A few questions that perhaps Steve Whitney may be able to answer (if he still reads the forum):

Why are these lads allowed to be registered for two teams?

Are the R&D players in the Corby U18 team eligible to play in the R&D first team? Who do they belong to?

Mark Walsh said that Conor Collins is on the fringes of the Banbury first team, so if he's their player, why are we playing him? Couldn't his spot in the team be given to someone who is eligible to play for us?

Lastly, is James Harrison still involved with us in any way?

i think i can answer some of those.

We play in different leagues so they can be registered for both teams, much like Matty Brady and Jamie O Grady are for our first team. When drawn against each other they have to decide (or their manager has to) whom they play for.

Yes the players registered for the Corby U18 team are allowed to play for our first team as long as they are UCL registered

Conor Collins can play for Banbury and is also eligible to play for us, i think Mark felt he would be a benefit to the team and clearly he was by his MOM performance.
James Harrison is not involved in any other U18's and i understand he is at Long Buckby in the UCL

Remember also that the Corby U18's are the lads that are at Manor School in Raunds

The game was a bit of a farce IMO, i can't understand how 'our' players can play against us as it makes a mockery of the competition.

James Harrison is playing for Long Buckby i believe, its a shame he is not with us really as i thought he had potential. I believe it was a case that he thought the grass was greener on the other side so to speak!!

Thanks for that, I was just intrigued. It must have been strange watching 'our' players play for another side.

They're actually listed as U19's which is a puzzle and something nobody has been able to explain to me. :(

I think (without any great inside knowledge of Corby's youth team) that they play in an U19 league, hence the team is registered as Corby Town U19. However, there is no U19 county cup so they were entered into the U18 cup, but would not have been able to play any of their U19 age players. Therefore there would have been no age advantage over our lads yesterday.

A mockery? Well from my persective it was 11 players vs 11 players and they all did they're best to beat eachother - overall it was quite entertaining (the bits I could see that is ;) ).

Yep your right Dave they play in an U19 league, but actually only have U18 players at the moment.
Watching from a Corby point of view, it was a really tight game. AFC went for it second half, which I would expect being 1 -0 down in a cup game. I honestly thought AFC was going to equalise, which would have made it very interesting indeed. Just a shame the fog was so bad. Given the conditions I thought it was a good game.
