I think they're all rubbish, and don't even get me started on those people that park the cars, or steward the games, or clean up the stadium, or do the announcing, or put up and take down the nets, or video the matches and then spend hours editing them, or running the OWS, or replacing the diviots, or who write the programme, or sell raffle tickets, or staff the shop, or help out behind the bar, or staff the turnstiles, or clean the changing rooms after games, or wash the kit, or .................I think you can see where I'm going with this? ;)

EVERYTHING about this football club is as good as its volunteers and in my view they are all FANTASTIC !!! We wouldn't have a club without them and they deserve all the praise in the world for whatever they do and give to the club !! End of !!

If ANYONE wants to moan about ANYTHING then be prepared to step up to the plate yourself. Helping out isn't possible for all, some just want to come and watch the football, thats fine. But to criticise on a public forum those people who give their time freely and willingly is not on IMO !!

Radio Diamonds has got off to a bit of a stutter (that's not a comment on the commentary btw). Once we can get the matches both home and away covered a bit more consistently, then the guys are certainly looking to expand things a bit more, broadcasting pre and post match, interviews etc, lots of ideas have already been discussed

But it'll take time to get things up and running properly and plently of man (or woman) power so anyone that would like to get involved whether on a regular, ad-hoc or one off basis would be welcome. Please have a chat with anyone on the team, or bozzer or myself if they're busy commentating.

Well said, if only i could get to more games i could give a hand, but have only been to two this season. I really do take my hats off to everyone involved on a matchday...from the start to now AFC is getting bigger as the weeks go on. With the sheer efforts and determination of the volunteers at keeps the club alive. You are all super the lot of you....

Chas, I feel that the Radio Diamonds link page needs highlighting on the OWS home page.

It's back to the consistency thing, no point in having it permanently advertised for people to go there expecting to find a broadcast when it wasn't happening. Once the consistency is there then yes I'd agree it should be added to the menu and plugged a lot more. We need to find our feet first though.

The easiest or at least more memorable way to get there is probably http://www.radiodiamonds.co.uk

I should be at matches regularly, I honestly don't mind lending a hand commentating if needed.

Awesome comments Jim, not many people are really concerned at how the game gets the go ahead and who does what, but to complain without considering it at all is baffling sometimes.

Piggers after having run a football club for 20 years, I would just say that sometimes you need to accept constructive criticism to improve what you are trying to achieve. Yes play the volunteer card regularly, I agree without them no club would survive. But also be mindful that you are providing a service to 'paying' customers (yes I know they dont currently pay for Radio Diamonds) and be gracious to accept constructive opinon in the way it is meant. Finding the balance is difficult and when your mopping out them dressing rooms you sometimes wonder why you bother when the moaners comments are going round in your head, but like football its all about personal opinons.

By the way your all doing a great job :) ;)

Alan, I'm well aware that not everyone will buy-in to the volunteering aspect and that they'll expect a match-day experience equal to that clubs in the BSP who pay for certain aspects of their service (and yes, I do accept that even at that level there are lots of volunteers) offer.

Our volunteers do what they do because they love our club and yes, I am fairly protective of them and with good reason. I'm on the Board and I'm there to be shot at because I've decided to take on that responsibility, they haven't. I'm fairly thick skinned anyway ;)

I also accept that people will criticise, constructive criticism is very welcome, we should never be afraid to listen to people who have something positive to add. What I don't accept, and never will, is people just moaning for the sake of it, we can all do that. The other thing I disliked was that this was done on a public Forum and singled out people who are doing a terrific job, certainly a role I'd never volunteer to do (I'm far too shy) !!

If anyone has an issue with what is being done I urge them to email one of us on the Board and give us a chance to respond, to "have a go" on a public forum isn't right in my opinion and is detrimental to what we're trying to achieve. This club has one of the most visible and approachable Boards going, we want to hear from people, especially if its something we can improve on - so speak to one of us on a matchday, email us or send a personal message via this unofficial forum.

Rant over................ I'll join the mutual appreciation society - you're also doing a terrific job (but away days when you don't have any duties to fulfil ARE the best, aren;t they? ) :D
