Coaches for away games

Post by ron manager »

By coaches, i mean one and probably a minibus, if there is enough interest in this, i may be persuaded to organise or even drive a mini bus to a game or two. These will not be beer buses but family friendly ones/no alcohol on board. Just gauging interest really to see if its feesible and sensible priced etc.

Bookings and payments would all be done online,

On your own there then Ron?

No, seriously, that is a brilliant idea and I wish you all the best with that, I admire the fact that you have taken it on yourself to organise it...................well done and good luck.

You may want to put some posters up at the D&D to gauge interest too 8-)

It will be for inurance reasons, if it works out the same and people can behave , then it would be ok in moderation,

Quotes coming in (So far)

1 x 29/33 Seater Coach @ £325, this is for the Buckingham (Bletchley) game, picking up at Light strung and the dog and duck

which means £10 a seat if its filled, so I would guess we would either have to

1:- charge more to cover less numbers (surplus given to the club)
2:- Hand out refunds on the day if we go over the magic number of £325

At the end of the day, it will all depend on the numbers who want to use it to what we can charge, simply based on that quote the cheapest would be £10 a seat.

Whats peoples thoughts on this, I hope the other companies I have chosen will come out a little cheaper, but I doubt it will be by much.

Speak to stamboy on this forum, Ron. He started to look at getting a coach for some of the longer away trips back in August but there didn't seem to be many people interested. Problem is it's only viable for people living close to Wellingborough/Rushden.

More than that, its against the law:

The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985

■ prohibits the possession of alcohol on the way to matches on football special coaches
and trains and makes it an offence to be drunk on them

■ provides the police the power to search someone reasonably suspected of committing
an offence under the Act, and to arrest such a person: this may include searching
coaches or trains carrying passengers to or from matches
