Re: RATE A PLAYER
sorry ,,dont agree with this idea,,,,,,,,as some of the lads come on here ,it may/will affect them,,,,,they are not premiership stars who get payed loads, who dont give a rats what people think..............all these lads need is encouragement(i have been guilty in the past for posting negatives against the lads  one in particular, but i will allways shout encouragement on a match day,,,,,,and the lad is proving me wrong   )

Re: RATE A PLAYER
Don't agree with constantly displaying positivity just incase our players aren't very thick skinned. Sometimes a bit of realism is a good thing. As far as i'm concerned they can enjoy the adulation when things are going well (most of the time I suspect) and take the flak when they're not. However I agree this idea is pants. Sorry FOOTYMAN. ;)

No problem, it was just a suggestion and an opportunity for everyone to put over their own thoughts on the subject. It's nice to know that a lot of fans do visit the forum and is an excellent way of communicating.

Footyman, I understand your best intentions, but in this instance, rating a player could have a detrimental effect. A player knows when he`s had a substandard game, he does n`t need it quantifying and reminding of it. Does n`t matter if you`re one of the Li`l Diamonds taking pens in front of the DeBanke or Hopey himself, one word matters, CONFIDENCE, and as the 12th man, we need to get behind all our players .

Agreed, how would the fans like it if they were rated on their level of support? 8-)
Re: RATE A PLAYER
I think it was appropriate in the R&DFC days of highly paid league footballers, but we have to bear in mind how little the current players are getting to entertain us.Duke of Wimbourne wrote:dazSRJFC wrote:Footyman, I understand your best intentions, but in this instance, rating a player could have a detrimental effect. I appreciate what everyone is saying and the main reason for making the original suggestion, was to get all of the fans to give some feedback and see if it was a worthwhile exercise. That is exactly what has happened. I would like to thank everyone for their input, feedback, constructive criticism, well intended advice, thoughts and personal views. This does prove one thing, We care about our team. Thanks guys.
