Did you not see that state of the thrapston pitch last year and the mud the linesmen had to run in for most of the season when they finished the match it looked like they had flippers on! In fact at woodford last year their whole pitch was like that for our u18's

Realistically we would love it to be like wembley but it's not going to happen you can't just sort it out, it takes time, it is better and now we have a top guy doing it who knows what he's doing I have no doubt it will get better but it won't be pretty at stages during the season
The worst I've seen in the past couple of seasons was at Arlesey where they had to repaint the touchline at half-time as it had completely disappeared into the mud. I just think that corner of the D&D is going to be a real challenge, and might put paid to games that would otherwise have been played - but I'm sure those that know about these things will do the best possible to keep it playable.

The pitch at the D&D looked quite bad at the start of last season, certainly in comparison to the Kiln Park pitch, but actually deteriorated far less. I don't think it looks too bad at the moment, given the crappy weather recently (not to mention the crappy weather during the summer!), and will hopefully hold up better than most again this season.
