Histon....
....... are the latest club in financial trouble. They have informed the Conference that they are unable to fulfill their fixture at Colwyn Bay tomorrow and will be seeking financial advice on Monday.
Last Saturday's home FA Trophy match against Borehamwood, which they lost, attracted only 177 fans and this was a shared gate, after match expenses.

Re: Histon....
Not entirely related but I think Northwich Vics are going down the AFC route next season according to Twitter yesterday. Aren't they playing their home games miles away after being evicted from their home?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I believe so. Their Trust are planning to visit us in the near future so that they can see how we do things, and hopefully we'll be able to give them some good advice to help them on their way.BartonRaz wrote:Not entirely related but I think Northwich Vics are going down the AFC route next season according to Twitter yesterday. Re: Histon....
They're playing their games in Stafford, which I think I worked out was the equivalent of us playing our home games in Stevenage, so needless to say they're getting dreadful attendances of sub 100, so I imagine they will be going down the AFC route after a bad few years that included them getting kicked out of that nice new stadium they had only just built.BartonRaz wrote:Not entirely related but I think Northwich Vics are going down the AFC route next season according to Twitter yesterday. Indeed, doesn't seem that long ago when they were featured in a Sunday live FA Cup match on ITV in that new stadium against Charlton Athletic.Olly wrote:.....after a bad few years that included them getting kicked out of that nice new stadium they had only just built.

Had a few cracking away days at Northwich, always enjoyed visiting them and it had nothing to do with being able to get a beer during the whole game honest!!!!

Or because of the blonde behind the bar ;)
Histon was a good place to go as well, shame all these good clubs going this way. :(

I'll always remember Northwich for the woman from the old peoples home next door that always went to fetch the balls that had gone into the car park. I think looking out her window on Saturday afternoons was like watching TV.
