Tomlin (from the Tamworth forum)

Post by johno »

Tomlin - Tonight he has not got one toy left in his pram - right in front of us when he dived which resulted in a booking - took a minute to pull his socks up in front of the ref whislt on the floor - close to being sent off me thinks! hence chat to their captain by ref. Moaning little s**t throughout!!! No not ref!!!

Have to agree that his petulance could really cost us.....and yes it was a terrible dive!!!!

Apparently he is struggling with a foot injury but it doesn't excuse the way he was haranguing the ref from the off yesterday. I think the dive was the final straw for the ref because it wasn't in an area of the field that usually brings a yellow card punishment.

I didn't actually think it was a dive at the time.

Interesting about the injury, everyone knows he plays on the edge, maybe the injury just means he gets wound up a bit more easily now.

Also have to wonder if he is going to manage to pick up another 4, knowing Tomlin that's quite likely, and if that happens he misses 3 games, which would probably end up in him missing either major games towards the end of the season, or even some of the playoffs should we make them.

I could be wrong, but i seem to remember that after March all previous bookings are removed. Don't really know why.

Had a look to see what the FA says. If I remember, the deadline to get suspend for 5 bookings was put back this year throughout the leagues due to the World Cup, so it is probably March for 10 bookings this year (usually the second Sunday in April according to the regulations, p10 of pdf below), although that needs confirming. However, the 15 bookings suspension is in effect until the end of the season, which in our case would include the playoffs if we made them.
