I'm around 25 miles from Peterborough Station and I've travelled north from there but it's a PITA by the time you factor in fuel costs there and back and exorbitant car parking charges in Peterborough. :evil:Everyweeker wrote: There are decent trains from Peterborough, but then you need to get to the ground from Morpeth/Newcastle.

Before taking booking etc. for supporters, remember to check with the club what their arrangements are for the match.ron manager wrote:On it, watch this space.Trek wrote:To be honest unless you can can get discounted rail tickets then travelling is going to be very expensive and fuel costs will be around £70 per car so unless we can organise car sharing with minimum of 4 in a car perhaps we should look at organised coach travel?
I'm sure a shared coach for players and supporters is not out of the question.

Yes, thought of that, but lets just see what the quotes are, when I have them, I will put them up here, so the board can see, and see if it works for them as well etc etcAndyKirkup wrote:Before taking booking etc. for supporters, remember to check with the club what their arrangements are for the match.ron manager wrote:On it, watch this space.Trek wrote:To be honest unless you can can get discounted rail tickets then travelling is going to be very expensive and fuel costs will be around £70 per car so unless we can organise car sharing with minimum of 4 in a car perhaps we should look at organised coach travel?

Re: Ashington Away
What would be the maximum number of seats available to supporters in a team coach organised by the club after taking into account playing squad, team management and board members needing to travel?

On www.redspottedhankey.com - i've found individual outward and return tickets from Peterborough-Morpeth for a combined £55. I don't often use trains so there may well be cheaper alternatives.

Factor in fuel and parking to Peterborough Station and you might as well drive up the A1. Where I live I find that I have to allow over an hour to get to and park at Peterborough Station and by that time I can get to Newark on the A1 in my car.BartonRaz wrote:On http://www.redspottedhankey.com - i've found individual outward and return tickets from Peterborough-Morpeth for a combined £55. Financially it would probably be far better to go on a coach / share a car, but the journey would be pretty painful. I suppose it depends on whether you're prepared to spend 10 hours on a coach rather than 5/6 on a train.Trek wrote:Factor into fuel and parking to Peterborough Station and you might as well drive up the A1. I've been to Berwick via Morpeth on the East Coast Mainline a couple of times and it's a dead easy trip.
