Altrincham run-in

Post by rushdenman »

Altrincham could have a big say in the final placings at the top.

Including yesterday's game at AFC Wimbledon ten of their final 14 games are against teams in the top nine, playing York twice and all the rest once.

K*ttering seem to have the easiest run-in - I really hope they don't finish in the top 5 now that it has been confirmed that they won't be allowed in the play-offs as it would really mess the other teams in the play-off positions about.

I think Luton's is the easiest to be honest - Stevenage and us of the top teams !!

8 of the scum's games are at home - where they are crap (or have been!!).

The good thing is York's slide opens things up a bit more. It's ideal that they have to play Wimbledon and Mansfield, plus they've got Stevenage on the last day.

Certainly makes an exciting end to the season.

Actually we have a great chance of really cementing a play-off spot. Alty have to play;-

Wrexham away
York home
K*ttering home
Us home

in the same time we have Gateshead at home, so they'll have 4 games to our two so we "should" be fresher. The Oxford game which was postponed at Christmas might become a blessing in disguise as we could go into the game in a good run of form and that might encourage a load more fans back for that game.

Though i very much doubt the amount that would have made the trip down from Oxford on Boxing Day/New Years Day ;)

Our run in is tough, but as pointed out not as hard as it could have been. We also have Mansfield and the Wombles to play, who like us will be desperate for points in all of their games to make the play offs, and tbh i think these games will be where our chances are won or lost.

agree i have a funny feeling we will get beat at wimbledon. dont forget the game at wrexham last away game that wont be easy either.

been looking at this a lot today and to be honest i dont like the look of our run in
our remaining away games are
alty
wimbledon
K*ttering
kidderminster
mansfeild
and wrexham

all currently top 12 theres no easy games there!
i think we will see more draws from these games than wins
as long as we can beat the likes of gateshead crawley and ebbsfleet at home i think we will still be in the mix after the luton game

Let's see if this works now.

Here are the remaining fixtures for the six who I think are involved. We've got one of the toughest run ins, as said, but there have been some strange results recently as we all know.

From that I'd say we can take Mansfield out of the picture (assuming some of us still had them in the picture). K*ttering could still have a massive say in things, their run-in is piss easy after us.

I take it by looking at those fixture's, K*ttering were due to face Chester on the final day, hense meaning they'll have no game?

No, The list of fixtures for each team don't link up with each other. K*ttering have Salisbury on the last day.
