Help Needed to prepare the pitch for saturday
Help Needed to prepare the pitch for saturday
Most of the water has cleared and the pump is working, there are a few of us down at the ground now trying to get rid of the rest of the puddles.
If anyone is around and can get down to the ground in the next few hours with a gardening fork it would really help to be able to get the game on for tomorrow.

Re: Help Needed to prepare the pitch for saturday
Dunk, Bob, Mark Hedges are working very hard to remove all the standing water on the pitch.
Duncans pump doing a great job clearing the water on the training pitch.
Hopefully if you guys don,t get any more rain maybe a good chance of the game being played.
I shall be keeping an eye on the pump all day to make sure it,s working and not gone off.

Yeah it looks like we could be in a difficult situation. There is some serious heavy rain coming our way tomorrow and we could be in a position where the pitch is playable at 11am but not come 3pm. Big decisions tomorrow.

Re: Help Needed to prepare the pitch for saturday
when i left we had shifted thousands of gallons of water off the training pitch, dug trenches to get rid of laying water, I would hope that we have a better than 50-50 chance of being on 8-)
Re: Help Needed to prepare the pitch for saturday
Even a 50-50 chance of it being on going into tomorrow would be an achievement imo, I half expected to come on here today and see it had been called off already, had already resigned myself to not going to the D&D over the festive period, so would be delighted if its on, so great work guys.

An awesome effort to get the match on guys, you can be very proud of yourselves for putting in such an effort - thats why this club is so damn fantastic, the people !!
Sorry I couldn't be there to help you today, however, my fork and wellies are already in the car and I'll head over early tomorrow to see if there is anything I can do then - I fear, looking at the forecast, there are dark forces working against us (I've just got back from seeing The Hobbit.......forgive me ;) ).
Fingers crossed the match will be on, but even if its not - much respect guys !!!
