Focus has been shifted off of 1st to a promotion place, and with a bit of hard work and support, we could probably snatch it.
That's the thing, I can't see Oadby or Sileby dropping silly points personally.

Oadby have got a tough run of games coming up, so maybe they will, maybe they won't.

If anything, it should motivate the team more knowing they CAN'T drop any more points, just for that chance, we'll have to wait and see as the season progresses!

Hope you're right Adam about Oadby and Sileby dropping silly points like we did with BPW and WBC but I'm too not sure tbh, with Stefan Oakes signing for Oadby today, they could get even stronger and have been consistent since their slight drop in form in October and the only 2 teams to get anything off Sileby so far have been Oadby and Eynesbury so little chance of them dropping many silly points, so we may have to have to hope for a Quorn-style disaster or something at one of the top 2

With that being the case, we need to make sure we get a good result against Oadby at home, and get decent results against Sileby home and away! We need to be the team that makes them drops points, and hopefully from then onwards their performances will go down!

As long as we keep getting results, and not dropping ANY more silly points, we should be there or thereabouts at the end of the season!

What's happened with Merrill? Doesn't turn up for training. Doesn't turn up for games.

Wasn't at the game today so therefore do not feel inclined to get stuck into the team or management like others at present.

However I think the committee should now sit down with the management team and review the plan for the rest of this season and what we should improve on for next season as quite clearly we are not in prime position to go up this year. I hope we can keep the support with us going forward as the basic norm is that people will continue to support a successful team.

I also cannot understand the situation surrounding Joe Merrill. He started off the season as being quite clearly our best player (sorry Alfie but that was my opinion in early season). Then we have a disagreement with our old captain and Joe and Alfie get offered contracts and after this Joe has hardly been seen on the pitch since, is this a co-incidence or something more basic.

It is clear that Sileby and Oadby have the upper hand now and seem to have the resources available to achieve their goal of promotion out of this league. We are taking a bit of a leap of faith in believing no other teams next year will be equally prepared to step up to the mark and disappoint us again. It is therefore important that the committee review what mistakes we have made and what Sileby and Oadby have done this year and can they be quantified in order that our structure can be rectified for next years push.

If the quality of management, coaching or players is found to be insufficient, then steps to improve should be put in place in preparation for next year. I know we may have more expenses than others due to having to play at another teams ground, but we are the best supported club at this level by far and to lose this advantage would be disastrous for our cuase to obtain a ground of our own and progress to a higher level that our income could support.

I think we probably have less expenses than other clubs because we ground share with Wellingborough and I understand we split the running costs 50/50. We pocket all our gates receipts and share all bar/catering receipts from all matches played at the Dog and Duck.

Too many knee jerks comments just because we lost a game of football this afternoon. Sileby, Oadby, Eynesbury etc. have been established a lot longer than us and don't forget AFC Wimbledon didn't achieve promotion at the first attempt

Joe M. is away on holiday with the approval of the management. Elliot D. is away on holiday with approval of the management. Jack W. is out injured and may miss 2,3,4 weeks or more ?
When we have a full team available, we will beat any team in this league. We just need a full team available. One day, Yep, one day.

Let's not wheel out that old chestnut Trek ;). Can't go using that as an excuse, I doubt Sileby have a single player remaining from last season's squad so essentially they're in the same boat as us. Don't see them having any problems.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
