Awful news, RIP Ken :(
Thoughts to his family, I know his son Andy and he actually played for BPW against us.
Another Diamond in the sky.

Re: RIP KEN DOBBS
Only heard he was ill on Tuesday night and had known Ken through R&D. Volunteered brilliantly as stadium anouncer and will be sadly missed. RIP Ken

I've known Ken for a number of years. He was a good friend to both AFCR&D and SRJFC and will be missed.

Very sorry indeed to see that Ken has passed away. He was a great servant to R & D and a really nice guy. His quiz nights were especially entertaining.
Condolences to all his family.
You will be sorely missed, R.I.P. Ken.

Known Ken since I was involved with the Scouts in Rushden 20 years ago. Real nice person always stopped for a chat on match days. Ken gave so much to RDFC and would offered more to AFCR&D a great loss in so many ways.
RIP Ken
Condolences to all his wife and sons.

Re: RIP KEN DOBBS
Although I knew the name from RDFC days from his quizzes (my eldest was a regular and has quite a collection of wooden spoons, a 'tradition' I continued at the one AFC quiz I was able to attend) our paths didn't cross until he volunteered to help with the announcing at the DRMC and youth games.
His professionalism really enhanced our matchday experience, but unfortunately his other commitments meant he was unable to continue with announcing duties this season (not to say John hasn't done a great job taking over). His quizzes remained ever popular though and you could see the work he put into them, all for the benefit of others.
I went to see him on New Years Eve and he remained in good spirits despite his illness and as you would expect was more interested in finding out about everything going on at AFC and how he was going to keep the quizzes going than dwelling on his own situation.
A lovey guy that will be sadly missed, my condolences to his partner and family.
