We had a lot of snow yesterday which was thawing so I guess this caused the flooding that BM mentioned in his earlier post. We've had an awful lot of snow overnight in the county and up to mid morning which is now very wet and this is thawing slowly this afternoon so it will add to the water already on pitch. I don't think it's a case of removing snow from the pitch, nature will do that. I think it's more of a case of where does all the water go with the exceptionally high water table level.

Don't think Corinthians would go for this, as they have a home fixture against BPW on Tuesday 9thsussexdiamond wrote:This game could be played on wednesday 10th April.
Welly have game on previous evening but would that matter so much? (dependent on weather in meantime)

Yesterday at 11am the pitch was covered with snow and the pitch in the far right corner (looking from the PDB) was badly flooded for about a quarter of the pitch and it was creeping up the pitch.
Personally, I'd say no chance of the game being on Tuesday, we'll just have to hope the snow melts and the resulting additional water disappears quickly (and we have a dry spell between now and Saturday) if there is any chance of the Oadby game being on.

The pitch was not brilliant last Tuesday, put even more sand on it and we might as well play in Hunstanton

save me a fortune in fuel going to Wellingboro instead of Hunstanton

It will be a nice topical resurrection if it is!

Absolutely amazed when I got down there this morning with how much water had gone, still snow on the pitch in front of the De-Bank stand. After just leaving the ground 15 mins ago, it looked very good. Well done to all the volunteers who worked down there today, not only on the pitch but on the ground maintenance that needed doing.
After being there saturday, and leaving the pitch a short while ago, the contrast is amazing.
