Note also that although that confirms that Sileby and Oadby currently finish after us, there is also still an Eynesbury game to be arranged (away at BPW).

Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
So Oadby, Sileby and potentially Eynesbury could all go into their last remaining game knowing what they need to go up as we would have already finished. Would even know how many they may need to score. Utterly, utterly ridiculous and potential for some manipulation.

Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
It doesn't give me any pleasure at all to point out that I've been saying all along that this was the inevetable result of all these postponments :( . There has never been any requirement that leagues at this level must finish on 4th May. Best thing we could do is water the pitch for a few hours before a home game to ensure that our season finishes late too

Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
Yeah absolutely pathetic, it seems this league hates us! Also probably means we now won't go into the Spencer game with a chance of promotion at 5pm on the 4th and may just have to keep our fingers crossed for a miracle on the 7th :evil:UttoDiamond wrote:So Oadby, Sileby and potentially Eynesbury could all go into their last remaining game knowing what they need to go up as we would have already finished. Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
Next season we might as well not bother trying to get games on in difficult conditions. Actually on second thoughts I bet if it were us with the fixture pile-up they'd not extend the season...
The final day of the season should have every team playing and kicking off at the same time. Every league knows that!

Now we must have a siege mentality and win every game. Let's start with today. Flags & Dale's banner time.

Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
What's doubly puzzling is that after so much juggling of fixtures all season, there seems to have been very little attempt to squeeze the latest set of rearranged fixtures into the schedule - just dumping them into that extra midweek slot.
In addition, some of the games needing to be scheduled appeared to have obvious free slots they could have been played - e.g. Whitworths v Sileby could have been on Wednesday or Thursday next week, when many other teams have games. The Raunds v Rothwell game is a really odd case, as Raunds only have one game between 9th April and 4th May (against us), and Rothwell don't play on 27th or 30th April either.
Oadby's final game against Wootton has been arranged for 7th May - yet neither team has a midweek fixture in the preceeding week.

Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
I quite fancy a nice little trip to Wooton, as I missed our game there. If there is anything in it, it might be quite fun to get a few singers for Wooton!
Re: Season extended / Transfer Deadline
The BPW v Eynesbury game is now fixed for Monday 6th (Bank Holiday), so all three fellow title contenders will finish after us.Formic wrote:http://www.afcdiamonds.com/ucl-news-tra ... n-end-date
