What improvements would you make at the D&D?
Following on from one of the other threads I thought the answers to this question might be interesting. If you were given a cheque for £50k that had to be used to improve the Dog & Duck, and there were no rules/regs in the way - what improvements would you make? What needs doing?
Personally i'd like to see something at the far end of the ground, possibly a terrace mirroring the current PDB. I think this would give it more of a 'stadium' feel. I'd also like to see the PDB extended towards Dale's bar.

I'd dig the pitch and start again with better drainage. Any remainder would go on the pitch and if there's any left after that I'd use it for the pitch.

Terracing at the far end and covered standing area to hotel side. I did hear a whisper that consideration was going to be given to this. Additional toilets, between Peter Edbon Stand and Dale's Bar would be useful. A mobile toilet block would suffice subject to drainage.

Do you think the pitch needs a bit of work??SouthRushdenJFC wrote:I'd dig the pitch and start again with better drainage. Any remainder would go on the pitch and if there's any left after that I'd use it for the pitch.

I mentioned this to a Doughboys official recently and he said it wouldn't help with flooding issues because of the high natural water table level.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:I'd dig the pitch and start again with better drainage.

You'd need more than 50k for that. ;)Biggles wrote:Roof to keep the rain off

Keep the money for moving the club back to the Rushden area, imo that should be our focus. Why spend money on a ground that we hope to leave?
