In fairness it was a shocking game, but leagues aren't won over 90 minutes so we can ignore that and celebrate the double.
When we first joined SRJFC with AFCR&D with a mandate to improve youth facilities give more opportunities for disabled footballers and begin a Ladies programme in the Rushden area we got a lot of stick and people telling us we were stupid to even think about it and all the money the kids and girls paid would be swallowed up by the first team.
I wonder what they think now?

Totally agree with that
. We had people doubt us all the way through the season and so many wanted to see us fail. That was never going to happen after all the hard work put in by the board, managers and players. Unbelievable season

When myself, Dave, Darren, Claire, Leanne and Katie huddled together around a table in a darkened room, planning the Ladies team, I would have been happy enough to have enough players to complete a squad and a season`s fixtures, but to have won a Division 2 title and the NWL Plate in the first season is an astonishing achievement.
Congratulations to all the aforementioned and thanks to everyone that has lent their support and watched the games, and of course the Ladies squad themselves, who have added to the AFC R&D Family footballing experience immeasurably.

The 1st ladies game I've been to. Enjoyed it more than what I thought I would do. Might go and see the ladies more often next season. Thought the 1st and 4th goals where good. To me no pen outside area.
Congratulations to all the ladies.
