In 40 years of watching football at NP I've NEVER seen us totally decimate a team like that before. It was total football in the second half. I was bloody annoyed at half time with some half-wit on the terrace shouting at Justin "sort it out Justin". He musta been taking the pee.

God that was ****ing, ****ing, ****ing, ****ing, fuuuuuuucking amazing. What a ball from Tomlin for the 3rd, what a strike from Farrell for the 5th (or was it 7th?) and that fantastic f***-up from the keeper. Well done Mr Downer, you deserved that after your run. Ohhhhhhhhhhh I'm bouncing and bouncing, sooo happy.

Superb entertainment - some great goals. For me the best was Louis' first - a cracking strike from an excellent cross from Tomlin. You wouldn't have predicted the score at half time though as although we were the better team, we were a little too casual particularly in midfield. Terry put too many passes astray whilst Byrne had a really poor first half. Whatever JE said during the interval had an amazing effect.

Seemed like a training game at first. I think it still felt like it until Faz came on and got us pushing for more rather than just playing around them in a fasion that, frankly, wasn't all that entertaining. After his introduction though it picked back up and was thoroughly entertaining for the last half hour. Hoped we could get to double figures as I seem to recall that would be an all time conference record too. Could have done if we went for it more in the first half or had the cutting edge then.

I think the whole team deserved man of the match, Louis' goal was the pick of the bunch, Downer deserved his goal, a classic f*** up from the goalkeeper!!

My mate was questionning before the game why players chase after lost causes, because most of the time it's just a waste of energy. When Downer scored I turned to him and said "That's why you f**king chase down what looks like a lost cause!" :lol:diamondgeezer1 wrote:Absolutely amazing, what a game!!!!

Anyone know why their goalkeeper got a yellow card? Was it something he said?

Yeah, dissent apparently. Don't know why he was moaning to the ref when they were already 7 or 8-0 down! :lol:diamondgeezer1 wrote:Anyone know why their goalkeeper got a yellow card? Was it something he said?
I have to say (and I don't say it very often! ;) ) that I thought the ref was superb today. I know that's easy to say when you win 8-0, but even during the first half before we really stamped our authority on the game I thought he controlled the game superbly.

Can somebody describe exactly what happened for Downer's goal?

Diamond down South.
