Next Season 2013/2014

Post by Noddy »

Step 1 to 4 allocations have now been confirmed

One bit of good news is that there are plans to promote more Step 5 clubs to Step 4, so this may mean two promotion places on offer.

The UCL have also tweeted that Woodford United will be in the Premier, while Lutterworth Athletic, Peterborough Sports and St.Neots Saints will be in Division One.

No the extra promotion places were for this season only, and only in the south east. From now on it's 14 up 14 down, one promotion place per step 5 division.

What about Wisbech and Kirby Muxloe, have they definitely been moved over?

I guess that they are definitely staying where they are!

Good to see Scarborough Athletic finally move up the pyramid again, but what on earth are they doing in the NPL south, they're more northerly than a lot of the NPL north :?

I wouldn't complain if we got into the Southern League South and West if and when we reach Step 4 :)

Agreed about Scarborough though, looks very odd when you look at the map!

The oddest one is Barwell going north and Hinckley in the south and they're only two miles apart and would have been looking for a bumper Boxing Day crowd.
At least Bishops Stortford have been put back into Conference South.
Gloucester City, however, are still in the Conference North.

I still think we'll see a few changes to this 'unofficial' assessment:-

Stortford are safe for now, but I think they have been safe at this stage before, only for AGM Cup alterations to shatter their southerly hopes.

Gloucester in the North may not be such a disaster for them given the M5 link. The certainly don't seem to have kicked up a fuss recently.

I can see Aldershot being demoted from the Conf Prem at the AGM Cup in favour of Stockport.

Stamford may consider themselves unlucky to be put in a Northern league.
