Who are the lucky ones?

Post by ID »

Who has been present at all of the big-scoring games in the last season-and-a-half?

Which was your favourite? ;)

9-0 vs Weymouth
6-1 vs Barrow
5-4 vs Grays
6-1 vs H&Y
8-0 vs Gateshead

Was at them all, 6-1 at Barrow for me, the long journey made it so much better!

I only made the home games - They were both cracking games for different reasons, I celebrated the fifth more in the grays game, as it was pretty crucial, but the gateshead game was just special.

I've been at the Grays and the Gateshead ones. Grays would win for sheer mentalness where as yesterday we just outclassed Gateshead pure and simple. I wasn't really angry at one point yesterday where as once Grays went 4-3 up I started walking around the terrace to vent my anger. Seems a long time ago...

I was at all bar Weymouth, and it's between the Grays and Gateshead games for me. Grays overtook the FA Cup qualifying game against Grantham in 2000 as the most exciting game ever IMO, a real rollercoaster ride with a perfect finish to the game, and one that I definitely wasn't expecting when we were 4-3 down.
The game yesterday was the most outstanding performance I think I've ever seen. Yes, Gateshead defended like a team of blind men for much of the game, but you don't score 8 goals against a team in the same division without playing unbelievably well (unless it's a Weymouth situation). The Barrow and Hayes games were superb especially considering that we were away from home, but I've seen us score 6 before so to score 8 in front of our home crowd makes it a bit more special.

The Weymouth game had a weird feel to it, and I think all those present, fans and staff, didn't take as much pleasure in that victory as the others mentioned in this thread.

In terms of recent big victories the other game I'd include would be the game at Alty last season. Although this was "only" 4-0 it was a great performance, with four cracking goals, including a rare goal from Curtis Osano, and Burge's best goal for the club.

Second to that I'd put the Barrow game as the most memorable, followed by yesterday's game.

Only seen the two home games, Grays & Gateshead. Yesterday was the best I think out of the two high scoring home games.

Yeah, it was embarrassing defending for their 4th but at least we made up for it and incredibly came back again and went on to win it! Think the Burton Cheltenham game from yesterday beats that for craziness though!

Yeah agreed with all of that. Only Weymouth missed from this fantastic list :D
