Do you think season tickets holders will pipe up about it, if they did they would not be wrong, as the value has dropped from when they originally purchased. Legally speaking I reckon it could be a mess. If it was me, oh its my club that's rightTrek wrote:One lost home match compensated by the fact that season ticket holders have already paid for it.

It wouldn't bother me, but some people are tight as Dick's hatband.

You keep saying "it won't bother me" - and yet you seem to raise most of these sorts of issues, giving the impression you are bothered by them.ron manager wrote:Do you think season tickets holders will pipe up about it, if they did they would not be wrong, as the value has dropped from when they originally purchased. I'm a season ticket holder - and I'm more than happy to help the club cash flow.
You can't give free tickets to cup games BTW - it's a split gate.

That is not possible, as pointed out, which is why cup games are not included in season tickets.ron manager wrote:I would just give a home cup game (assuming we have one) for free
You can rest assured that the hard-working board are. as usual, currently working out what is the best option for both supporters and club overall. Which is basically one and the same thing.
We do like to explore all the options and, as we all have full-time jobs and family this can sometimes take a while to filter through.

Ok, I will not bother putting forward suggestions, thanks for your input, but what I was offering was something good and the right thing to do, for people that have paid their money.
Its just good common courtesy and as a community club something we should be promoting, not just sweeping it under the carpet, hoping no one notices, the game has gone missing.
As to bothering, god knows why I do, on here, people seem to be stuck in their ways :(
SouthRushdenJFC, thanks for the level response, the free game thing is/was just one idea.

Hardly, you just seem to make mountains out of molehills.ron manager wrote:As to bothering, god knows why I do, on here, people seem to be stuck in their ways :(
I'm an ST holder and I won't be bothered about the fact that now each game on my season ticket is costing £2.84 per game, rather than £2.70. I doubt others will be either.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

I think it was a reasonable point, as it occurred to me also. I was never going to get 'value' from a season ticket v pay-per-game (so I too could care less on difference in per game price), but as with my votes on members issues, I think it is important we do not just consult 'our own soul' on these issues as the most hardcore fans, but remember to placate and entice those with slightly less dedication and commitment, or a more passing interest in being a fan.Bob's Bitch wrote:Hardly, you just seem to make mountains out of molehills.ron manager wrote:As to bothering, god knows why I do, on here, people seem to be stuck in their ways :(

Ron's suggestion of getting some goodwill from being proactive seemed fairly sensible to me.

Doesn't bother me, but Ron makes a very good point and should in no way be criticised for drawing attention to it, which in fact was what I was doing in making my earlier post because people had said the club would be losing revenue from one less home game.
This is an unofficial forum after all.
As for Godmanchester Rovers not wanting to play in the UCL, as far as I'm concerned it's one less club for us to worry about. ;)

Indeed - and to me our board has shown they can be trusted to have the fans / members interests at heart, rather than anyone having to start talking about "legal challenges", or about "sweeping things under the carpet" within a couple of hours of the UCL confirming the new constitution.Everyweeker wrote:I think it was a reasonable point, as it occurred to me also.
