Re: [ VOLUNTEER WORK THREAD ]
Its ironic, or sods law, that since I started this thread I have not been able to get down to ground.
However I am available Wednesday and Thursday, all day, this week, for painting mainly. Will there be anyone down there or can you tell me what needs doing?
I should also be availbale next Saturday pm and Sunday all day if required.

Re: [ VOLUNTEER WORK THREAD ]
We'll sort some things out and let you know, and have the relevant paint supplies ready hopefully (am checking that today). There may be some internal Blue painting to be done, as Paul from Wellingborough is half way through that at present. In addition as per Tony's article, there are a few white outside walls to be painted as well, and then finally the barriers around the pitch. So plenty to do in that area.sussexdiamond wrote:Its ironic, or sods law, that since I started this thread I have not been able to get down to ground.

I am possibly going to be away for a bit towards end of next week, so may not be down there myself, but we'll let people know what times the D&D will be open.

I'm also available for painting duties during school hours all next week, if I can help out then please let me know.

Re: [ VOLUNTEER WORK THREAD ]
Thanks to those that have been down over the last few days - the Patio is done, and weeding down to the Dugouts completed - just the other 3/4+ of the surround to do. Remember we have bin bags, scrapers, sheers available in the Office as required. [Note: The Office will be manned from at least Midday to 7pm today as Chas/Stacey are around for Membership/Season Tkt renewals].
Sussexdiamond - we sorted some paint out now and have 2 large cans of the External Paint for doing the Hospitality suite outside and the other bits on the main deck area, plus any areas that look like needing doing (main clubhouse seems mostly ok) etc..
See Bob or someone down there to get those. I couldn't find any brushes or dust sheets at present, so you may need to bring a few bits.
We also have some paint for the barriers as well - but there is some work to be done on a few bits, so that should probably wait a bit, or Bob will clarify where things can be painted.

Re: [ VOLUNTEER WORK THREAD ]
I went to ground this morning. The area that needed prepping before concreting, behind the training pitch end is now ready for the "professionals" to do their stuff.

Re: [ VOLUNTEER WORK THREAD ]
Apologies to any fans that came down this morning for concrete laying. The folks organising this hadn't confirmed this (nor said it wasn't happening, after it got postponed last weeked), and were unable to get the concrete for today. Once I get confirmed time of delivery will let you all know on here. All the prep work is done - so it will just be 3 or 4 people needed to help shift and tamp the concrete.
Have been away for the last week, but work seems to be going well - all the weeding is done. Work has started on the Patio area (WTFC are putting in an extra step along there instead of that fence that was falling down. We're reusing the slabs that are where the new turnstiles are going.).

Work on the pitch continues, with the goal areas still needing a bit more work. We have returfed a few areas off the pitch that were not recovering, and giving them plenty of Water. We even had one of our strikers take time out at lunch to come and help water the turf.
