Fixtures out tomorrow?

Post by BartonRaz »

Apparently they are although it's the UCL, anything's possible.

Who are we hoping for over Xmas/New Year? Final game? Any fixture you're going to be looking for?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Its 99% certain we will get Welly at Xmas and Easter, as I think that is the usual format with UCL to play local derbies at those times.

With potentially/hopefully several cup-ties in the early weeks, mostly away, we could do with some home matches.........even in midweek!

We can request who we want to play at Xmas and Easter, no guarantees though.

No mention of Oadby. I take it that both matches must be in the second half of the season?

Well 28 scheduled fixtures by January. With FA Cup, Vase, KO, County cups and the inevitable postponements beyond November, its extremely unlikely/impossible we'll actually play 28 before January. Credit to the fixtures guy(s) for the scheduling after the the farce of last year, I see plenty of midweek games in the warmer months which should mean there won't be such a backlog at the end of the season, though we'll have to see.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the weather is kind enough to actually give us a Boxing Day game this year, its been so frustrating in previous years missing out on all those potentially big crowds against Oxford, Luton and last year against Whitworths, I know it'll be Wellingborough's big day, but it'll still be fun to have what could be a 1000+ crowd at the D&D.

Lots in the 1st half is fine by me, get them in early when the weather's good and avoid the crap of last season.

I wonder if Botterill will be gesturing to the PDB like last time, judging by their squad disintegration during the summer I think he'll be very lucky if he gets an opportunity to do so again. ;)
