The "did it or didn't it" cross the line incident was pretty scary from the far end!!!
Not a good performance today, but we are still in it.

1-1 was a fair scoreline tbh, at least we're still in it, if Colney had finished better, we wouldn't be. Every time they went on a break I was worried, we struggled to deal with them time and time again and I wonder whether that shot Cross dropped was over the line, was impossible to tell from the other end of the pitch, but it must have been close
Anyone know what the attendance was, looked about 300/350 to me.

All the games in our FA Cup group ended 1-1. So no nearer to knowing our future opponents IF WE BEAT COLNEY

You're not kidding! Though there were quite a few scary moments in the second half, Colney weren't a bad side and Tuesday won't be easy, but much improvement needed from us, it was the first time I've seen this team in competitive action this season and could tell we've got plenty of work to be done all round the pitch, Dunkley looks good and extremely useful, though seemed to have quite a frustrating game today.sussexdiamond wrote:The "did it or didn't it" cross the line incident was pretty scary from the far end!!!

1.1 was a fair result in tricky conditions, we did hit the post before they scored, I thought we were maybe edging it when we scored and thought we could of nicked in the end. I think we will get the job done on Tuesday.
going forward we lacked in CM, McBride and Harris are good players but both defensive, think Dunkley was getting frustrated and not happy with the service

Cracking goal for our first ever FA Cup goal - bit of history there Joe, well done !!
We didn't cover ourselves in glory today, not the best day at the office, but we're still in it
Time to draw a line under it and move on !! Tuesday? I think we'll win !!

I thought that Eliot did well when he came on and gave us a bit more vision, I'd like to see him get more game time 8-)
Not the best performance, but as others have said, we are still in it, so let's hope that the lads are up for it on tuesday 8-)

Absolutely, and encouraging for the rest of the season to show the character to have a stinker, and still get a point/replay.Duke of Wimbourne wrote:I thought that Eliot did well when he came on and gave us a bit more vision, I'd like to see him get more game time 8-)

Like other posters have said, not our best performance by a million miles.
In the first half, the wind was carrying our frequent long balls either straight to the keeper or out of play. One of the few times we linked up on the deck led to Ben hitting the post with a nice effort, albeit with an important touch from their keeper. Then they broke and scored, and Crossy pulled off an absolute pivotal save in terms of the match just before HT from a point blank header.
Their counter attacking really worried me in the second half; it's as if they were waiting for our mistakes (which there was certainly enough of), and then breaking with speed, almost catching us out on several occasions. We seemed to be missing that creative spark in the final third, and it seemed to me that the introduction of Alfie almost galvanised the team. After a couple of near misses (Sam's cross flashing across the face of goal), an absolute exocet from Joe right in the top corner. Cue pandemonium behind the goal, and we almost won it with Alfie's cross which was hacked behind. Saying that, we could easily have lost it with the 'Was it over the line' incident at the death.
At the end of the day, we're still in the FA Cup, and I'm delighted at that, but there's no doubt that we'll need to perform a lot better to beat a very useful outfit on Tuesday. For one, Deaks needs to come in for Jamal at the back.
