Re: [ Sat 24th Aug ] v Sleaford Town KO 3pm UCLP HOME
To answer lots of questions.
A yes problem at Sleaford they are shit.
B did Newman make a mistake ? On a par with the yanks expecting us to
Believe Armstrong stepped on the moon.
C Wed is now a massive game Hunt are good but if we perform we are better.
D K*ttering are dog pooooooo and its not beyond the bounds of possibility we could go up and wave to them as they go down
E Pat the tw t will be Corby manager by Wed and will be picking tulips as he leaves Spalding, so resurgence for Steelman (well out of bottom 5) and big callapse at Spalding under ( )
F Jake. ( I have got a right foot) Newman will score a goal before December!!!
Now I'm talking boll ks so time to sign off.

Shouldn't you be changing your username to Smithie?
Re: [ Sat 24th Aug ] v Sleaford Town KO 3pm UCLP HOME
Done that as to be honest I thought my ba rd son Sam Smith who played on Tue was possibly a better player than Sam B who for some reason Starms put back in today.

First time I have seen them this season...so...
Dunks is a massive player for us, the difference he makes is amazing, he terrorises defences. Two areas of concern, one being Dent, whilst he is good he is no King, Dent dosn't look like he has a tackle in him, and king should be ahead of him on the selection sheet IMO. Also Clarke, worries me somewhat looks liable to a few mistakes, but I guess he will just get stronger as the season gets going, but overall quite minor tweaks.
I was quite impressed with Sleaford with their passing game, in fact they pretty much out passed us, kept the ball well I thought, but had zero cutting edge, I think their formation was 4 1 4 1, very defensive.
Looks like it could be quite an exciting season, as I'm sure the team and squad have more to give, and will get better and better.
On the subject of Newman, I think the point is now mute, as he would have never got in the side anyway
Anybody disappointed with the crowd, I was, I suspect the weather was the clincher there, we really need to sort out more covering somehow.

Certainly not disappointed with the crowd, its a Bank Holiday weekend and the second game of the week.

Yeah I was slightly disappointed with the crowd as well (though I was very pleased with all our other crowds this season), was hoping for 600+ after the crowds we've had midweek, but I don't think it was as high as Tuesday, could have been the weather yes.
Edit: 491, as I guessed, not quite 500, shame, as we usually manage over 500 for Saturday games.

Ah, bugger, I keep forgetting it was a Bank holiday, explains the lack of kids playing footy behind the goal, they are all on the hols everywhere, still only a few less than them up the road, and they are a league above usSouthRushdenJFC wrote:Certainly not disappointed with the crowd, its a Bank Holiday weekend and the second game of the week.

We've played 5 games, home and away, so far against teams with minimal support yet we have had 2497 fans watch us so that's not too shabby for a Step 5 club during the holiday season.
I expect that our support on Wednesday night at Huntingdon Town will once again out number the home fans by at least 350.

Only 2 places above us! With a 200 drop in their crowd from Tuesday RJ's arse must be tightening, which will severely restrict the blood flow to Jon Dunham's head...ron manager wrote:Ah, bugger, I keep forgetting it was a Bank holiday, explains the lack of kids playing footy behind the goal, they are all on the hols everywhere, still only a few less than them up the road, and they are a league above usSouthRushdenJFC wrote:Certainly not disappointed with the crowd, its a Bank Holiday weekend and the second game of the week.

Lots of good points well made, though I'd struggle to see anything in the Sleaford side other than bottom 5.
Newmans rightfoot along with the rest of his anatomy would struggle to make the bench in our present squad, so other than taking the piss we move on from that topic.
Dent is not the best at tackling but then 50% of Kingy's tackles are all studs showing & just below the knee & have been since he was 12 so not a good comparison. But leave that one to Starms one thing he proved last season with AMc the registered prat, he can man manage & do what's best for the Club regardless how close to home it is. He delt with the latest twitter crap perfectly & to be fair to him Kingy responded. If nothing else with the personnel available & the results so far this season it's shown catagorically NOBODY is bigger than the team/club.
The crowd :?: 491 for UCL Prem level 5 & you not happy  it's a bank holiday weekend in August & the forecast was crap so lets get real most level 2/3 Clubs chairman would perform Kings Cross for that. And more covered areas are on the way, in place by Dec.
