We were standing right behind Mal Swindon and from his photos you can clearly see that the AFCD player got the ball, unfortunately Matty just landed awkwardly by the look of it. We were told he's bruised his back and was ok after it, just a bit sore.sussexdiamond wrote: Any news on Matt Gearing. How that guy was not even booked I don't know.
What is news on Sam Brown.
Suddenly our squad is looking a little threadbare.

Noticed that their top scorer BJ Christie, who's scored 9 in 5 didn't feature yesterday. Hopefully he wont return for Tuesday although his replacement Francis looked a handful

With reference to the debate about should we concentrate on UCL or cup ties.
I think we should go out to win every game in those competitions. The lesser cups can be treated with a little less respect.
The fixture backlog issue will probably not occur unless we have awful weather after Christmas again.
The original fixtures gave us 28 games before the New Year, but Woodford have dropped out, so we would only have had 10 games to play in 2014. We have already now lost three fixtures because of cup ties (Cogenhoe and AFC Kempston and now N. Pagnell as they are in next round of Vase) and hopefully will postpone the Boston game on 28th Sept. after we beat Cockfosters. To offset that we do have two blank dates before Christmas because of the Woodford issue.
How much further we go in the FA Cup after Cockfosters (if we win) is really debatable as we come up against some much more fancied teams.
The FA Vase however has to be a realistic target for the club as there are no clubs at a higher level.

Thought that it was actually a good performance from most of our lads against a very well organised AFC Dunstable side, and at the end of normal time, we could count ourselves slightly unfortunate not to be already into the next round, with Faz in particular being really unlucky with two great efforts that were blocked almost on the line, and Kingy missing an absolute sitter.
At the end of ET though, I was more than happy with the chance of a replay. Their No.9 was an absolute handful all afternoon with his direct running and pace in behind on the counter attack, and they easily could have scored 2 or 3 in extra time, with our changing of system to 4-3-3 leaving our midfield and full backs exposed.
MOTM for me was Brad, who I thought passed the ball well, and covered the CB's admirably when they were pulled out of position. Honourable metnions also go to Jamal, Faz, and Nat, who I thought all had good games.
Credit also to the atmosphere that was generated in the second half in the terrace behind the goal
A similar atmosphere like that on Tuesday night, and as already mentioned, it very well may help to pull the lads through to the next round of the Vase.

Shulver can't be trusted with the drum sticks... He likes to stick them in places which he shouldn't :lol:Olly wrote:What happened to the drum out of interest, how come it only comes out occasionally?STAGMAN wrote:Agree with Bob must make a lot of noise on Tuesday, lets get the drum going for a starter

Tony has the small drum. The 3 larger ones are stored in the old shop, so can be brought out. Last few times I left them on terrace they weren't used so stopped getting them out as Tony's drum was used anyway. Just ask well ahead if kick off and am sure someone can help.Olly wrote:What happened to the drum out of interest, how come it only comes out occasionally?STAGMAN wrote:Agree with Bob must make a lot of noise on Tuesday, lets get the drum going for a starter
