Didn't go last night but apparently some fans can't accept defeat, like someone has said move on, the league is what really matters

Everyone's accepting defeat, it's just that some opposition fans can't seem to get their head round the fact that we don't really care about these minor cups and have put out weakened teams in both.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

"Don't really care" is not correct in y opinion. we use them for a different reason but the lads who wear the shirt cannot be accused of not caring.

Don`t know or care whats been said after the game as long as it isn`t anything that has let the Club down in any way, seen a comment from the Welly keeper and reply from Crossy and that`s all, like you say Bob`s Bitch they are delighted to beat us but for some reason can`t relate to the fact we may possibly be taking 2 other Cups and a League a little more seriously than last night and last Tue. As for the clown who referred to our squad, oh I can`t be bothered to finish the sentence  As has been said lets move on, after all it was a bloody game of football and not a very good one at that.Bob's Bitch wrote:Everyone's accepting defeat, it's just that some opposition fans can't seem to get their head round the fact that we don't really care about these minor cups and have put out weakened teams in both.

This is going to come across in a patronising way but I don't mean it to. As Diamonds fans I think our view of the Hillier Senior Cup has been tainted by the fact that to us it's always been THE Micky Mouse competition each season. For UCL clubs like Wellingborough, Long Buckby etc it's been an opportunity to test themselves against much higher level opposition, and on that basis they take it very seriously as fans and players.
Regarding the stuff on the UCL Facebook page, the result last night was just a stick to beat us with.
FWIW I thought the XI we put out last night were capable of far far better than they actually produced.

Personally I don't go on the UCL Facebook page, as it is full of wind up merchants. The best bet is to ignore it.
All the local clubs want to beat us, whether through jealousy or just sheer bloody mindedness. We are there to be shot at. I hate to say it, but like the old days when we were tagged as being "The Man Ure" of non league football. It is a typical british trait to slag success, no wonder this country is going backwards 8-)

I couldn't make it last night, who played well and who was below par ? It sounds as though it was just a run out for the team to be prepared for what our club takes as priority, the League and Vase and possibly an extended FA Cup run. The report doesn't indicate much in the way of performance.

One thing I noticed last night and reminded me a lot of Sunday morning football was all the shouting and hollering all the time by the Doughboy players. Perhaps it was noticeable because of the smaller than usual quiet crowd. Their goalie was shouting even when the ball was in our half.
I went home feeling what a waste of an evening.

Yes if the Doughnuts don`t wish to believe last night didn`t register much to us, as we didn`t make a public announcement stating so prior to the game, then they may wish to look at one small in fact very small stat  mentioned above THE CROWD presume they thought it was big, but think that was our lowest ever for a competitive match :o no not surprised at all, i`ve only missed 5 games & almost didn`t bother myself last night. less than half our average, it`s move on time, lots of much more interesting things to discuss ;)Trek wrote:One thing I noticed last night and reminded me a lot of Sunday morning football was all the shouting and hollering all the time by the Doughboy players.
