Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I don't think we were anywhere near convincing enough to warrant a win. For the 2nd match against these, we did create enough opportunities to be in front, if we had converted one or two, we could have settled into playing football. But, we also looked static at crucial times, no blame on defenders, it is just a case of someone taking command. There are games when the odd player has an off-day, but tonight we had 3 or 4 who were not playing particularly well, or things didn't go well for them. Huntingdon did enough to keep us out, although I thought Dunks should have had a penalty, and then struck with a wonderful goal and we were then left chasing for an equaliser. 2 - 0 was tough, and a good goal from King was too little too late. Koriya and Alfie were not up to the mark tonight, and it is hard enough against any other team, and tonight was tougher, especially when they were looking at a league double over us. It will be back to basics, get the team working as a unit and get them geared up for the Vase.
And my feet were cold.

Said it a couple of weeks ago and i'll say it again. Alfie needs to be taken out of the team for a few games. Don't let his good looks cloud your judgement of him being an average footballer.

What has Ben Morgan ever done wrong? Works hard ALL game and scores goals. Does his face not fit?

Time to rethink, regroup and look to a strategy for the rest of the season by the executive and management.

We are a young club and it is most certainly a learning curve.

We are not going to win this league this season but we have been incredibly successful so far - just need to reassess and move forward with a long term plan.

We have a great club, the nucleus of a super team, amazing support and in the end this will prevail.

Just need to be there and enjoy AFC R&D.

Only speed bumps will slow us down and we hit one tonight - need to reflect and then act...

great post, we are a young club and we will have our ups and downs, just as the old club did, we have no divine right to win ever game. Other teams see us a a big scalp, you only have to have watched the Huntingdon players celebrate at the end. We are there to be shot at, we need to come together. The crowds at the start of the season were vocal and I believe helped the team. We have becomevery quiet recently, as I wrote in my programme notes tonight. You are the twelfth man, do your bit and the team will do theirs.
We are a community club and we are all owners of the club, let us start on saturday, we can do this together 8-)

I agree about the atmosphere, the last few weeks have been a come down since the fantastic atmosphere at Dover, there's no doubt we can create a decent atmosphere at the D&D, we have done before, but I wonder whether the mixed form since our cup exit and the fact we know already there's no real chance of promotion has affected some people's enthusiasm. Really hoping we can have a great Vase run, would be very exciting if we got as far as the quarter final and imagine the atmosphere if we get 1000+ for a big vase game!

I think Huntingdon should be given credit tonight, we were poor, no doubt about it and little went our way tonight, but Huntingdon made it difficult for us all night, not giving us space, getting to balls first a lot of the time and organised at the back and they've done us over twice now and unfortunately the scorelines don't lie.

I thought we played well but couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo at the moment. We'll certainly play worse and win.

I shouldn't worry about that. You'll find that whatever words you write they will make their own sentences from them. It's a great trick.

We could have won at a canter last night, but then you could look back at ALL the games we have dropped points in this season and say that. Last night was a carbon copy of the game at Huntingdon, only then we should have been 2 up at half time yesterday 3 would not have flattered us. Not sure why it`s not working up front, Alfie has had a couple of games when his runs have been good & has got on the end of everything, last few games (ignoring the 2 with that other system when he was out wide) he`s hardly got near a single Dunks ball. What happened to Faz on holiday :?: god knows but he has not got near the form he showed prior to going, gets so frustrating when he pulls out of 50/50 balls and gets knocked off the ball to easily. But we know what they both can do so hopefully it`s a temporary thing, possibly a shuffle required in the mean time though.
All in all though IMO thought for spells we played some decent football, as good as anything since the Cambridge game, but that game 11 played well, recently including last night it`s been 8/9, so maybe we are very close to be a good side, just a couple of minor adjustments needed.

Completely agree, I thought we tried to knock the ball about especially in the first half, Overall we were quite unlucky to lose, yes we gave away two cheap goals but we've had two disallowed for offside (would like to see the replay on those!! we've also hit the wood work twice and just before each of the goals we where very unlucky, just before their first goal we had a chance that just rolled past the post and before the second the was about 10 fouls on Dunkley where we should of got a free kick or even a pen (if anyone saw Ashley young last night and it makes it laughable we didn't get anything for that) One positive a great finish by king shame on the people who left early!!!

Fazel was at least two yards off side for his 'goal', even the most myopic of lino's couldn't have missed that.

Had that confirmed last night by the person who crossed it, sadly if Faz had been aware of the calls and not played it we had others behind who were not offside, another day it`s 3-0 at half time and everybody is happy.
