Programme notes

Post by Bobos »

I know that not everyone buys our programmes, so I thought I would put up mine on here, so that you can all see them.
Plerase feel free to come up with a topic that you would like tp see me talk about, cheers 8-)

Hello and welcome back to the Woof & Quack for our league game against Newport Pagnell tonight. I was down the ground the other day, or my second home as my missus calls it, and was just looking around the place. When I studied the facilities that, we as a club have put in place, it made me feel quite proud.

If you think back to when we first set foot into the Woof & Quack and to what it looks like now, we have achieved so much in a short space of time. The Peter DeBanke stand, Dale’s Bar, our office and shop, the shelter down the dug out side of the ground, the fence, the improvement in the pitch plus other cosmetic changes are all down to the tenacity and hard work of the board and the volunteers. You should all give yourself a pat on the back.

Since the formation of our club, I have made many new friends, people who were fans of the old club, but I never really knew, because they sat at other areas of Nene Park. In fact the whole atmosphere at AFC R&D feels different to the old club.
People still gravitate to be near their friends, but there is a much more family feel about the place. The fact that, WE the fans now own the club and are not now exposed to any skulduggery or whim of an owner means that the fate of AFC is in our own hands and the future is only limited by the amount of fans we encourage to come and watch the team.

On to the team, I believe that the management have done a fantastic job in recruiting and moulding a successful squad so quickly. It is credit to their hard work, for the team spirit and professionalism of the players, long may that continue.

We have a FA Vase match on Saturday and I am looking forward to it immensely. We are now down to the last 64 teams and with a favourable draw, we can go far in this competition, assuming we beat Graham Street Primms of course? This match will be no forgone conclusion and I hope that as many of you as possible will come down and cheer on the lads. The dream of getting to Wembley would really help to put our club on the football map.

So, as I look around the Woof & Quack and marvel at the changes, my mind wanders to what our own ground would look like and how long it will take us to achieve it? Well I believe it is possible, when I take into consideration what we have done in such a short space of time from a standing start. With a bit of luck and hard work we will one day be playing in the Rushden area, where we belong. If you know of anyone with a spare million pounds, then please let us know so we can speed up the process.
In the meantime, get behind the team, because their success is our success.

COME ON YOU WHITES

On the subject of the programme, I realise this is being VERY pedantic, but the programme states the name of the league as 'ChromaSports United Counties League Premier Division', but is the official name not 'ChromaSport and Trophies ......'?

Nevertheless, I buy it every game and its a very good little publication, few clubs at this level can boast such a good programme every week.
