It was a cracking win, played on a bumpy pitch in a gale. Well done to all the management and players for such a great effort.
I'd have to agree with fentinger about the condition of the ground and facilities, if they get promotion they'll go nowhere and attract no new support into those surroundings.
Last of all thanks to Pat Rayment for reminding us of our past, what a ride we are having in the present as well. Our fans did give him an ear bashing as trooped off the pitch and their bald midfielder was offering to meet people in the bar after the game - no doubt he owed them all a pint for losing, well played sir.

He'd have bottled it, just like he did until Bunting went off, then he started giving it all the mouth.Three of Diamonds wrote:their bald midfielder was offering to meet people in the bar after the game - no doubt he owed them all a pint for losing, well played sir.

I was quite surprised that Rayment seemed to go into his shell during the game. I don't know if it was because he's not used to having vocal away fans, but I'd expected him to get far more involved with the game.
The Tulips really should have had a second red card in the second half, as both Cotton and Stevens could easily have received an earlier yellow before the one the referee finally gave them - and quite how Fairweather avoided one I'm not sure, especially when the ref gave Jamal Clarke a yellow for a lesser challenge than Fairweather and Cotton had been dishing out.

So, so proud of the lads after that one!
I think why we succeeded so well in the first half was because we didn't allow them any time to settle on the ball; we chased and harried them all over the pitch, and although everyone played their part in this, I thought that Sean and Bunts in particular were exceptional at this.
As someone said before, we were the team forcing the issue when it was 11 v 11, and I think yesterday showed that on our day, we can beat anyone at this level, and teams higher up as well.
Everyone played a big part in this great win, but I thought that Jammers, Brad and Dunks were exceptional in everything they did, and put their heart and soul on the line for this club.
What a day. What a result. What a team

I've been saying this all season, but also adding in brackets, 'bar perhaps Spalding', but now we can well and truly say we can beat anyone at this level (no matter how many step 2 rejects they have in their side ;) ), which is why we have a real chance of making Wembley in the Vase, even if we got a NL side away from home again which is likely if we go all the way, there's no doubt we can beat them wherever.olio wrote:So, so proud of the lads after that one!
