Sileby Squad

Post by FOOTYMAN »

It has emerged that Sileby have recruited Rob Foster, Elliot Dent and Harry Beckley from KTF*C and Lance Allen from Long Buckby along with 2 Coventry City Youth players.
They have obviously realised they need to improve, if they want to play in the UCL Premier League next season.

Having played them twice and got 6 points & 11-1 goal difference that can only be good news for us. Presume Foster is there for no other reason than The Ploppies can't unload The Flamingo as he's contracted.

I was thinking that myself, but, if he's contracted, he could be loaned for a fixed period. The opinion of the majority at LP think he would benefit from being loaned out, so it may be on the cards.

They also signed Boyle Chong from wellingborough and I was told he got £200 and a dishwasher (he has just moved home) as a signing on bonus.

Have Sileby dug up some money left over from last season's budget?

I was told that the money from last season's backers had dried up and Botterill had allegedly left because he couldn't get his hands on any of the money from the pre-season friendly with the Wobbs.

I think Daren Young moving to Sileby has parallels with Botterill moving there.

Is that the Darren Young of WWE fame who "came out" in August this year or possibly another one.

Young 'brought' himself a place on the Corby Town bench as 'assistant' to Graham Drury for the last couple of months of the season two years back. There was a great deal of mirth amongst the Steelmen support who only reckoned he was appointed because he was supplying and driving a mini bus for the players free of charge. He's done the rounds amongst UCL clubs.

Daren Young and his cheque book have history with doing this, most notably at Irchester.

It'll end in tears before the next General Election.
