Lots of possession but nothing in the final third. Again, no plan b.

That was Diamonds worse game of the season - no passion, no fight, poor management!

Honestly we didn't deserve a thing from that game.
Like others have said we have no plan b, the thing that annoyed me was Desborough were no better than us, but they wanted it more.
Where are Jamal & Deakin? and why didn't Starmer use either Sean or Dunc? Also where was our new centre back?
I think Starmer's lack of UCL experience shows at times.

I'm not going to slag folk off, last night was just a massive disappointment.
I think some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask the question "did I perform to my fullest ability?" - if they're honest I'd expect a far better performance against Wisbech !! Bouncebackability !! Lets not give up second spot without a fight lads !!
Time to get behind the boys and urge them on !!

Not on the football side as IMO we didn`t play that bad in the first half, another one we should have been out of sight after 45mins. A few had very poor games which is a concern as it`s a repeated theme over the last month or so and often the same players. More concerning was that looking at many of the lads they looked like they had other thinks on their minds and it did not appear a happy camp.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Worse than St.Andrews and the London Colney away tie?icm wrote:That was Diamonds worse game of the season - no passion, no fight, poor management!
Can understand Dunks not coming on against Kempston as the problem was resolved and we were winning the game, but last night!!! 27 assists in 38 games he was needed for the last 20mins and no sign of him, please can somebody offer a reason for this as sadly I can only think of one and it`s not a good thought, after all he is fit I presume or he wouldn`t be on the bench.
On a more trivial note, even Alfie himself must have been slightly embarrassed by MOTM presume that was done for no other reason than to allow him to talk us all through his 50th goal.

After a poor second half I hope none of the players are happy. We just didn't seem to know how to break them down and create good goalscoring opportunities so we reverted to long ball over the top, hoping that Faz & Alfie would outpace their defenders. Gearo had a solid game but had too many quiet spells where he wasn't given the ball, mind you his delivery was far better than Lingys for the most. Midfield has not dominated and needs re-vamping as it drops off too far allowing the opposition time to turn and build attacks. I Like Bunts but I feel he only has a good 45 in him in any game. Management also needs to sort out our marking in our own area, far too often this season we've conceded soft headed goals from long balls into our box. We need two big, strong, mobile centre halves. Very disappointed, we went home last night thinking the season was now over.

After that performance there must some concern at Board level that progress has stalled over the past few months. It was a poor display there is no disputing that. I'm fed up with continually harping on about team selection and the inability to manage the substitutions effectively so I won't offer any further comment. Why was Dunkley an unused sub? The only logical conclusion is that he wanted his bench money!
As for the comment about Desboro's "little fat striker". We'll Byrne has been one of the UCL's best goalscorers for almost 10 years now something that appears to be lost on our management team.
