I remember watching Long Buckby beat Kings Lynn in what was their key game as they went on to win the UCL premier title. The front five that day were Koriya, Bunting, Dunkley, Byrne and Ling, and its puzzling why Byrne is the odd man out, given he is clearly an instinctive finisher.

The only logical conclusion is that he wanted his bench money!
As for the comment about Desboro's "little fat striker". We'll Byrne has been one of the UCL's best goalscorers for almost 10 years now something that appears to be lost on our management team.
Agree with all of that! There was clearly no intention to play Dunkley so why not put a youngster on the bench such as Jake Reynolds and give him a chance!? Agree in regards to Michael Byrne he has consistently been a 25+ goal a season striker since he was 18 however his best days are probably behind him but he still knows where the net is!

I know we have limited options up front at the moment but i really can't understand why the management persisted with a front two of Alfie and Faz, that partnership is clearly never going to work!

Alfies partnership which is never going to work, hmm where have I heard that before? Talking of jake how is he? Hope hes back up and running soon. I'm praying dunks is back the weekend because this spark needs lit again, the past few weeks has been so drab its unreal, thought Deeping last week would be a real entertaining game and it was anything but. didn't think I would say this but want the season to finish now, a shake up needs to happen because the team
at the moment is not at title level?
And this long ball tactic is so frustrating, one lone striker to aim for being marked by 3 defenders is never going to work. Where is the spirit gone from the first half of the season?

I just think its a case of nothing to play for, we a'int going to get promoted so why bother with 100% effort.

Now I expect the Management and players would deny this but I think its in the heads of some players at least.

At this rate unless effort is restored I can see us finish in 4th Place.

talk about an over reaction 2 years ago you didnt even have a senior club to support so to finish in the top 5 of the UCL premier division after promotion in your 1st season is in my book progress

From the outside it has seemed for much of this season as though there are man-management issues but we as a fanbase have largely refrained from questioning the manager at any point.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I disagree with that 100%...I wouldn't call it an over reaction, we as a fan base are a passionate group of fans who want success for the club. I know the club don't have the god damn right to win every game, but we are aiming to finish as high as possible, and there are certain points after the match that we like to discuss. Unfortunately after the past few matches it boils down to player performances, selection issues and tactics. Don't mean we are going to throw the towel in. Finishing in the top 5 of the prem in the first season is an amazing achievement, we could have done a sileby  but either way surely getting 2nd is better than 4th. It ain't going to be easy with Huntingdons games in hand, but dropping unnecessary points needs sorting out...
Let's get back to winning ways Saturday!!

I'm writing this in the knowledge that Starms has resigned but on leaving the ground I spoke to someone who said our problem seems to be when we suffer a set back in the match such as against Deeping and Desborough the players panic and they don't get 'back to basics' and quietly play through the set back. Once Desborough equalised last evening it was very evident this was the case. The defeat against St Andrews should have been a 'wake up' call. Unfortunately it wasn't.
I think our squad needs reinforcing with no frills UCL players to get out of this division next season. Employ Step 4 players when we're actually playing at that level.

Misunderstanding I think BR, my comment was not a criticism or questioning of anyone manager or otherwise. Just an observation that I felt I was unable to see the spirit that has been evident in the past, some almost appeared preoccupied, with what I don't know, though I accept I may have seen something that didn't / doesn't exist.
