One rule for the rich......
So if the hardworking, unpaid volunteer secretary of a UCL club makes a mistake and the club field an illegible player, there is an automatic points deduction (Long Buckby, Lutterworth Athletic, Olney Town this season). If the vast army of full time administrative staff at a Premier League club do the same, it's a fine which will be completely irrelevant to such a club.

Unfair, Sunderland should be docked points too.

I quite agree - they also should have been thrown out of the Capital One Cup, in the same way many non-league teams have been ejected from the FA Trophy etc. As with Bradford City, it seems you can get away with these things if you are a high profile club.

so how many points only gained 1 with the useless twat on the pitch & then he came on as a 2nd half sub when we were 1-0 upSid wrote:So if the hardworking, unpaid volunteer secretary of a UCL club makes a mistake and the club field an illegible player, there is an automatic points deduction (Long Buckby, Lutterworth Athletic, Olney Town this season). Think your missing the point, but then if your a Mackem Cobbler cross it's hardly surprising, after all that is possibly the ultimate Mongrel. Was speaking to a real Mack a few mins ago & he can't believe you got away with no points deduction. Wing Wi Wung may be crap but he's your crap after all you did sign him, loan him etc, & on the subject of crap have you looked at the rest of your squad. Nice of you to visit us now please return to the pleasures of your forthcoming DOUBLE relegation.mackemcobbler wrote:so how many points only gained 1 with the useless twat on the pitch & then he came on as a 2nd half sub when we were 1-0 upSid wrote:So if the hardworking, unpaid volunteer secretary of a UCL club makes a mistake and the club field an illegible player, there is an automatic points deduction (Long Buckby, Lutterworth Athletic, Olney Town this season). Re: One rule for the rich......
Marine were punished with a points deduction for playing a player without international clearance, and that was from Wales!!!! And whats more he had played for two years before it came to light.
Also did not Thurrock get relegated last season for a similar offence, following a points deduction.
You can just imagine the almighty row that would erupt if any Premiership club were relegated for the same offence. It would drag on in the Courts for years.....but it would never happen as the FA are completely in awe of the Premiership. That's the same Premiership that has destroyed English football.

This was raised on the Non League Show podcast (and our own Mr. Chairman gave an excellent interview as well at the end!) and I agree with the comments on here, there and everywhere in the non league world relating to this.

Wasn't it Thurrock who were deducted points due to fielding a player who still owed his previous club a £20 fine? I might be getting confused with another club, but there was definitely a club penalised for this who ended up getting relegated.sussexdiamond wrote:Also did not Thurrock get relegated last season for a similar offence, following a points deduction.
The FA/Premier League showed their colours by not docking points from West Ham over the Carlos Tevez affair. I know that wasn't to do with international clearance, but the same principle applies; he was still registered illegally.sussexdiamond wrote:You can just imagine the almighty row that would erupt if any Premiership club were relegated for the same offence.
