Any chance of signing Rooney? The UCL is the right level for him, and he might bag us some goals!

Disappointing result, but not a disaster. I thought we played better than we have done for ages.
Good to see Sterling start,(well done Uncle Roy) although I thought he looked a bit tired last 15 mins. I would like to see him give it all for 70 mins and then bring on the Ox, that should scare any team. Uraguay are there for the beating.

Uruguay were absolutely Whitworths so let's hope it's a case of more of the same on Thursday rather than a bad day at the office. Draw would have been a fair result for England

I think my prediction is going to be correct

Anyone fancy a bite to eat. The f in clown has now got to be banned for 12 months, last alledged offer 65 million, expected future offer 50 million + Alexi, presumed worth 80 million, current value Worthless.

Appears I didn't miss much in the game against Costa Rica, had to work until 6, and got in around 75 minutes into the match.

Disappointment all round, but to be honest I'm not surprised. Until the FA put a cap on foreigners, its only going to get worse for England.

Diamond geezer, I have been saying that for ages. The problem is that the FA own the Premier League and we are asking them to no longer take billions of quid from Sky. Its like asking turkeys to vote for Christmas.
Somehow over the past 20 years the clubs have become bigger than England. Once everything was geared up for England success now club comes before country, and it is only 20 clubs, the rest of us who support football at grassroots (and to be fair those in the FL and below)are ignored.

There is no chance of the gutless FIFA doing anything about Saurez, although I hope I am wrong.

Remind me what our record in tournaments was pre-1992? One win on home soil and a semi-final in 40 years. If that's English football geared towards England success then I'm not sure that the PL is that bad for the national team.

The PL is extremely popular and justifies the money because everyone across the world is clearly willing to pay to see it, simple as. There's no point moaning about the money because the demand is clearly there for the product.

If England want to do well then it will require a long-term strategy that focuses on ditching the 'English way' of playing, i.e. running around like headless chickens for 90 minutes is more important than technical abilities. We need to start teaching kids that technical abilities are more important than lumping it up to the big lad up-front and 'getting rid' whenever the ball's in defence.
