Perhaps we have to back Peaksie on this one. The player you mention I take it will remain an U21 player with the club next season and so he can be advanced to the First Team Squad at any stage depending on his continued progress and there is no restriction on the number of players that we can register. However, Elliott Lamb-Johnson could have been snapped up by another club so perhaps we had to move quickly to secure his services.

Didn't realise this until someone mentioned it me at last evening's match but Elliott's father is Dave Johnson who appeared in RDFC's first fixture against Bilston Town back in 1992 and went on to make well over 100 league appearances for the old club.

Gotta be the first father and son for one to have played for R&D and one for AFC.

Fantastic link to our past! I was at the Bilston game (there was still a great deal of uncertainty about what Max's project would ultimately bring and a fair deal of scepticism around the place, but it only took a few months before the crowds increased).

Elliott looks a really strong player who plays with great spirit.

Yep, do you think Jory Mann will make the grade?

I take it you still have the programme? One sold for £110 on eBay about 10 years ago! :o

Oh I wish! I bought a few that season but have since lost quite a lot over the years with various house moves. A recent search revealed I still have the Gresley Rovers one from the last day, but nothing too significant from that first season apart from that.

I remember Dave Johnson, hopefully Elliott will also go on to represent us in the Southern League.

I'd put ELJ on a contract personally.
