I always get annoyed by the suggestion that fans should NEVER boo their own players.

I have booed Diamonds players before, though never AFC players. There is only reason I boo, and would ever boo my own player, is lack of effort. Not lack of skill, because that isn't a players fault, but effort (and it would have to be a consistent lack of it).

However, I haven't seen a lack of effort from Greg Ling. I don't think he is worth a place in the squad, but I haven't noticed him not caring for the cause. I therefore think the abuse he got yesterday was uncalled for.

I do hope he is one of a few changes for Tuesday though!

Terrible write up though. Turner missed a couple early on, prior to even coming on, the Bedford goal was the result of a Dolman slip, it`s gets better, our goal was a Bunting free kick (again not on the pitch) flicked on by Turner to Gearings chest who deflected it in off the post. Star Man Bedfords No 3 Jordan Jarrord (who at least was on the pitch)
I know they often do these reports from a quick phone call to the ground, having got stitched up by Starm`s at Cockfosters last season when on my way to the Gents he shoved a phone in my hand and said tell this bloke about the game. But who the hell gave them that garbage. One of 2 options, a Bedford supporter who didn`t go to the game or the girl behind the bar at The Dog & Duck who remembered some of what she overheard while serving.

Yes I did notice that there were loads of errors in the report, as you have pointed out, but at least we did have an individual report not like those big spenders up the road whose mention was relegated to the FA Cup round up section.

I offered all the local papers and some national press including the NLP free match reports from the Radio Diamonds team who help write match reports.
Only Extra News and the NT took us up on this.
So no excuses for someone to make mistakes on their match reports when we offered them match reports with it being sent out that day or the next at the latest!!
