He did but Gearing was poor last week away at Yaxley. Was surprised by the small crowd, I can only put down to playing against an opponent that we have no real rivalry against. Couple of moments of brilliance from Fazel got us the three points today and a goal for Boston that Matt Finlay will not want to see again during the highlights. Has to go down as the poorest goal we've ever conceded. Another 3 points but how much longer can we keep scraping these wins!?

UCL match against Boston or watch the Ryder Cup, seems the Ryder Cup won today for about 100-200 of our fan base.
I agree about scraping wins, I know its still 3 points but our competition at times seems to hit 4,5 or more goals against similar opposition, we seem to struggle at times to make hay when we should be hitting teams hard.
Even when we were on our great run to secure promotion in 2012-13 we didn't rack up the goals week in week out. Many UCL Prem teams set their stall out to defend in great numbers against us home and away (we're hardly the Harlem Globetrotters but I guess it's a compliment) - many of them still seeing us as the old R&D in terms of reputation, so I think we pay for that. It would be nice to see us move the ball quicker to catch teams out though.
Still, I thought the lads worked really hard & deserved the win. Nothing came easy (what about that 2nd half chance where we hit the post about 3 times in one attack?!) but all the lads got stuck in and were prepared to fight for the points.
I hope the lowish (for our standards) crowd was just down to something like the Ryder Cup, time will tell I guess. It's a shame as £6 to see decent honest players giving their all is very good value for money. Some good strong challenges were going in today and no one from either side made a meal of anything.
Glad to have got the 3 points but far from convincing performance. Made hard work of it, against another very average team. If anything they edged the first half.
Concerning that we have yet again not kept a clean sheet, although albeit this time in comical circumstances. At the other end the 5 minutes of madness when 4 or 5 balls came across the 6 yard box resulting in the post being hit 3 or 4 times, although looking back it is quite funny, on another day these missed chances could turn out to be costly. Especially against the "better" sides in this league who will go down the other end put the ball in our net.
On the subject of the crowd of 405 this is a below par attendance, however if we are not promoted out of this league this season, I suspect crowds like this will become the norm. People want to be entertained and want to see us competing against some different and more established teams up the pyramid. I'm afraid the prospect of watching us play teams like Boston Town, Yaxley, Market Harborough etc in the UCL will not inspire crowds to keep returning. This is why it is vital we start beating these teams by 3 or 4 each week. 1) to entertain the crowds 2) to send a message out to the rest of the league we are better than you and we are THE team to beat in the UCL Prem.
