Well said! Some people need to take a long, hard look at themselves.
It would be a real boring world if everyone thought the same eh?
im not a fan of ELJ, he may well play good at home, simple fact is yesterday knowing what was at stake he under performed big time. Everyone was constantly asking when/where dunks was coming back, and we all know that his heading can be on form...providing he gets the service and ELJs crossing ain't up to scratch..

Play ELJ at home, matty away :D
It's just a shame when they are under pressure the midfield go awol and dolman is having to play hoof ball which surely ain't the way. Going down the wings would be a far better approach and more effective..
Agree with all the above

ELJ is the kind of player that just simply doesn't fancy on the big tough occasions! Hullbridge he was poor. Oadby he was poor. Thurnby he was poor. Yesterday he was awful! He simply goes missing on the pitch.

It's all very well getting MOTM performances against Sileby and Sleaford at home but he has never performed when it matters and when the opposition is half decent and physical! Gearing HAS to start the next game. As Corby Diamond said with Dunkley up front he needs good service and crosses and ELJ doesn't provide them!

He was by no means to blame for the shambles of a performance yesterday however how he lasted the 90mins I'll never know!

On the subject of the performance yesterday, yes the ref was awful, yes the pitch was rubbish and yes Holbeach time wasted and cheated. However we barely deserved the draw. For all the possession we had we created almost nothing. Their keeper had nothing to do all game up until the goal. The 2 results against Sleaford and Harborough disguise how poor we've been for a while. The attacking build up play against tougher opposition is slow and predictable. Oadby, Thurnby, and yesterday are prime examples of that.

We now have to win every game to win the league it's that simple. If Holbeach use those tactics every week they will continue to grind out results and I can't see them losing 3 more games to be honest. And before anyone says "but we're top of the league" I am aware of this fact but in my opinion we need to improve greatly if we are to remain there. That all starts next week against Sileby with Gearing crossing to Dunkley to get the ball rolling. VIVA MATT GEARING!

Just like to say well done to the fans for the noise created by the fans yesterday, I was behind the goal in both halves and the noise was great, I certainly think it helped to lift our players in the last 20 minutes to enable them to get a good equalizer

The amount of swearing coming from a tall, curly haired man with a prawn was atrocious though!

I think you have to agree that Drury and his cheating bunch would have made the Pope swear, or even punch them

Having just had a little look at the footage from yesterday and actually it was a fairly even top of the table clash with the two best teams going for promotion. It was tight, it was tense, there weren't many chances from either team, but we had as many as they did!

ELJ is 18, the video yesterday shows that 3 of our 5 chances came from him. Surely everyone can see it can't be helpful to him barracking him because what's happening is the opposition are winding him up and then so are the fans.

Having witnessed yesterday if you have to feign injury, try and get opponents booked, be as unprofessional on and off the pitch then I'll stay in the league because imo that's not the right way to do things. A prime example is Duffys late tackle on brad who simply got up, didn't roll around like he'd been shot.

There are some tough games for both teams to play and I am sure there will be twists and turns. We've got a very talented and fairly young squad and we will go from strength to strength.

A great turnout in numbers and noise yesterday now lets see what the rest of the season brings.

Thank you AndyK
What right do some people think they have to scream the type of abuse we heard yesterday at anybody, whether they be our player or the opponents. If they shouted such stuff in the High Street they would be arrested. Of course we can get frustrated and angry at players performances but we should either shout encouragement of just keep our mouth shut!.

Sam Brown heard the guy in the main stand screaming at King, what effect do you think it had on him (Sam)? He could be excused for thinking "why do we bother".

Players don't deliberately put in a poor performance, and yes I agree some yesterday were certainly not up to par, and we still got the draw. But do you or I never give less than 100% on every occasion.

This is Step 5 for goodness sake not the Premiership or even the Conference.
WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, TOP GOALSCORERS and will still be at the end of the season.

Some of the comments aimed at certain players is beyond belief. ELJ is a quality player, normally his crossing is great especially when on the run which is extremely hard to do. The pitch was poor and teams double up on him. Support the team and the individuals, they are trying to win the league of which we are top.

Great, when he reads the forum that will give him a lot of confidence to go and perform in the next match won't it?

As a local young player, then surely the club (and therefore its supporters) should be encouraging his development rather than criticising him constantly.

Besides this, he wasn't even that bad yesterday, in fact at times he was very dangerous and as bozzer suggests, from my memory he was involved in the majority of our chances.

You posted the other day to say that U21s should be included in the first team more regularly, but given some of the tirades of unfair criticism that I personally heard towards ELJ yesterday from a few of our fans, all I can say is thank flip they aren't as it would likely shatter their confidence for good!

Assuming this is the start of everyone victimising ELJ to the point where he simply can't play for us anymore, much like they did with Greg Ling, who is going to be the next recipient of the vitriol? Declan Rogers?

My personal opinion is that constantly shouting abuse and criticism at someone who at times is only a couple of metres away is not on at all. What given people the right to do this? The fact that they paid six quid (or even three quid in some cases) to get in?

I timed Dunkley's goal as coming in the sixth minute of stoppage time, so much for time wasting.

With the exception of the Confue second yellow I thought the ref got the majority if the decisions correct. His big mistake was to ref the game as individual incidents rather than the whole game.

This was summed up for me when one of their CB's went through the back of Berwick and he played the advantage. With Berwick on the floor ten yards behind play, Holbeach in balance and out numbering us there was no advantage to us.

He didn't stamp on their time wasting early enough either. A yellow to the number 5 when he placed, moved and placed the ball in exactly the same spot three times would have sorted that. He also should have cottoned on that their players were going down every time a second ball broke to us. A classic case of knowing the rules but not the game.

We knew how the Ginger Whingers would react and they performed right up to expectations. They got the reaction they wanted and were probably very pleased with themselves.

In the end it undid them and had they played with some tempo and moved the ball for longer periods it could have been game over at half time. Poor management.

It's definitely there's to lose now so let's see how their players cope with the expectation that ours have to endure every week

A point gained I say, we were not very good at all. In fact we were just a shade better than the referee. Comments aimed towards players are part of the game and every supporter has the right to cheer, boo or make comments towards anyone on the pitch. Some players respond by upping their game, others take it to heart. Players take their pay, regardless of how they perform, but, it is only UCL football. Get a grip, get your head down and get on with the game. If the manager thinks you deserve a start, repay him with a good performance, or there is a chance you will be subbed.
Gearing for me every game.
