Re: Dale?
Had a look at their board. Again, nothing about him coming to us, instead it's about whether their current keeper who has been filling in should keep his place (Potter's been injured or coming back from injury):PigmanRDFC wrote:Anyone heard any rumours????

Had a look at that username and then on the grassroots website. I think ChrisVessey(CUFC) and AmberAndProud on grassroot are the same person and if so, it's only been him whose been going on about it (note the youtube video link with ChrisVessey in it):

Basically looks like his opinion, plus the january rumours thrown in as well. I'd ignore it.

Re: Dale?
I know there was a potential move for Dale to Gateshead that fell through, but this is the first time I've heard anything about a move upwards for the lad. He deserves it - but I had hoped we'd keep him for a few more years yet !! I hope to see him ply his trade in League 2 next year...............with us !!

Re: Dale?
Completely agree about Dale, and also hope the same. As I say, the problem I have with this rumour is it's only coming from this guy. I would have expected some more noise on their boards about it, but there isn't, it's more of whether Brown is better than Potter and if they should get rid of him.PigmanRDFC wrote:I know there was a potential move for Dale to Gateshead that fell through, but this is the first time I've heard anything about a move upwards for the lad. That's the same guy who alleged the brown envelope rumour involving Rob Wolleaston's transfer to us.Mad Dog wrote: I think ChrisVessey(CUFC) ....
Always likes to think he's in the know so I'll take it with a pinch of salt as quite a few of his predictions have been very wide of the mark. ;)

Ah, a Cambridge version of Ted (just without the melodrama and not being a closet Diamond ;) )! Well that just adds to the case against this.Trek wrote:That's the same guy who alleged the brown envelope rumour involving Rob Wolleaston's transfer to us.Mad Dog wrote: I think ChrisVessey(CUFC) ....

Re: Dale?
I liked old Ted, great banter, too many of our fans couldn't get it, they took him far too serious. He had his moments, and when he did lose it he got banned, but overall he offered so much entertainment if you laughed at and with him !!
I've got a lot of time for him, he even sent a tenner in the post to me when I did that 33 mile sponsored walk, so he wasn't all bad !!
(Edit)
Just had an email from him - say hello to Ted everyone, he's looking in, if not posting !!
An extract from the email, I'm sure he won't mind me sharing):
I have been following with great interest the progress of your beloved club. JE appears to have the midas touch as far as bringing in less known players and making his team gel. Having watched football for far too many years that I care to remember, I know damn well that a club doesn't have to spend enormous amounts on transfers and wages to achieve success. I remember Graham Carr building a great side for us in the mid to late 80s on a shoestring, and in contrast, the twit Calderwood spending a good chunk of the Cardoza's fortune in finally gettingout of League 2.
You really must be enjoying your football again, and I am genuinely pleased for you and the other real fans who have 'stuck it out' through the barren years.Whether you will be playing us next season is still undecided, as we could still obtain promotion as well as you. However, no matter how the season pans out, I'm sure your faith in football has been well and truly restored.
Unfortunately, I am still barred from contributing on the Rushden forum, but I still do regularly frequent the site to catch up on the gossip.
My very best wishes to you, and please give my regards to the other Diamond fans ( even the ones who hate me).
Kind regards
Ted.
