Last night was IMO always going to be probably our most testing game during the run in and it turned out that way. Kempston are a good side with a very good home record, though I would say some of what went on was not what I was expecting from them, either the Manager had fired them up a bit to much or a large crowd got to a few of them. Seb is not and never has been the sort of player who puts in tackles (assaults) like the one on Bunts, and 1 elbow per game is to many and they managed to slot 2 unpunished ones in. Shame the pitch was not up to the normal standard for Rovers or it could have been an even better game.
All round a good solid performance which always looked like a win once we got back to 1-1, some very good contributions and like most others on here it would be remiss of me not to mention ELJ, if he can reproduce that consistently during the run in the may well be a few dizzy left backs
Also a mention for Conway between the sticks for Rovers, as without him it could have been a repeat of the 5-1 earlier in the season.
Like everyone there (including all those from Rovers) I would mark the Ref (Ed Milibands half brother) and the Lino on the stand side as poor to f..in awful, though given more detail, the lino was just inept and the Ref out of his depth, someone has to take a long hard look at themselves having given a game like that at the business end of the season to a Lad who was doing his 2nd ever UCL game, he may end up being useless forever or he could possibly have been a young lad who may have made a decent official but last night screwed his head and he will not progress as he could.

I agree about the ref, it was not necessarily his fault as he's just gone where he was told.

If you we had access to someone on the UCL committee who could raise this

I thought it was a fine performance, with some lovely build-up play which took Kempston apart when we got it right. Great through ball from ELJ to Tommy for the cross and first goal. We just don't seem to be able to score early do we? Great performance from all, but I do wish Bunts would busy himself with winning the game instead of moaning at the ref, he's no good to us if he gets sent off for explaining the bleedin obvious to a poor referee. 7 points clear, 6 to play. Can anyone see Wisbech winning 3 more than us? Nope. Let's get the champers on ice.
amendment;- a technical hat-trick award to Brad for his late goal on Saturday followed by 2 last night

I'm surprised Trek or sussexdiamond haven't noted this. Brad's first goal was the 100th league goal of the season.

Dave he possibly mentioned his one on Sat was the 99th and his second last night was? yep you guessed, please don`t encourage him, agree with 3 O D that has to go down as a technical hat trick for Brad.

I did mention it on air, but I think it may have got lost in the excitement of the moment, after all Brad scoring is still a momentous occasion. Of course in future it will be considered "just another goal" from the "goal machine".

FYI Not only was Brads first the 100th League goal of the season, but that is the first time we have reached that target in our 3 seasons of UCL footy, and in only 34 games.

Last season we scored 135 goals in all competitions (53 games). To date this season we have scored 123 ( 43 games) so only 13 more needed to pass last seasons figure and 7 or 8 games still to play.

Another really useless fact : In nearly 3 seasons we have scored 374 goals in 138 games. Can we get the 400th this season?
