1319.....

Post by Pigman »

..........scum fans there last night  I didn't think there were that many of them, must have been hiding in that shed eh? ;)

712 of us, decent showing on a dreadful night at a dreadful ground, 2031 is poor for a derby game though eh? 4628 there to see us humiliate them in March 1997 !! 4750 when Duane beat them in 2001.

I think last night's crowd was the lowest we've ever had against them !! Sign of the times I guess, money is short and people are thinking twice before parting with it, I can understand them not turning up (to a point) to watch THAT !!

Mind you, under Tippet, Hart and Hill we were baaaaad, yet this fool and his money were still parted ;)

I thought it was a great turnout by the Diamonds fans - especially compared to the numbers we were getting at home earlier in the season. What an awful night it was too. Let's hope for another impressive turnout at Aggborough on Monday. I can imagine the demand for places on the Supporters' Coach will be high, but if that does fill up there is a promotional offer on London Midland trains over Easter that allows return travel from either Northampton or MK for £10 if booked online.

As for the Poppies, there was general consensus that they may not see a four figure crowd at their ground again this season after that showing.

I thought that you guys in the open terrace were first class last night. I managed to avoid any infectious diseases in the main stand - what a dump that is. There is builder's rubble where the stairs are - perhaps demolition has started already :D .

I was proud of the number of us stood there on that sh*t slab of concrete.

All you guys who got wet were brilliant (some of us found the shelter of the trees).

BTW anyone know why they didn't open the gates till gone 7 last night?

I wondered if they were doing a pitch inspection/finding some extra water to get the game called off ;)

Credit to all of you that paid the full price for your tickets btw! I paid £12 for students, and i feel well and truly robbed. Last time we went, i thought there was a terrace(ie stairs), never realised it was just a slab of concrete! And what a quality carpark outside!!! £2 to park in a bog! Im surprised our car hadn't sunk!!! I honestly think that ground is one of the worst in the conference!

Yeah coming out to that quagmire was nice, I'm sure I was sinking into the depths of hell at one point. Oh and credit to those of you that went into the shithole before 7.40pm, my Dad and I made sure we rocked up as late as possible to save getting soaked but it must've been a bit worse for those that wanted a place at the front. I also liked the general air of despondency and boredom from the home fans (minus the 14 year old on too much fizzy pop) as soon as we went 2-0 up, you could hear any hope they had vanishing into thin air. Christ that was fun, you know if there's one positive of not winning the play-offs it's the thought of going back and doing that again. :D

Oh and another (quite childish) highlight was not giving the ball back.
