Slightly confused as to why he's signed for St Ives though.
Don't usually comment on players for obvious reasons, but please let's get real. Scott is a fantastic impact player for max 30 mins which is when he has been at his best for us. Whenever he has started he has been poor for one simple reason, he has to lower his effort & work rate to try and last 90 mins normally making him ineffective. He is a nice lad & a talented footballer but sadly lacks any self discipline to a point he's even joked about his junk food eating habits. Nailed on he'll score against us but that's life. Much as I like the lad and I do, you can't have the professionalism most of this forum demands within the Club & Scotty. I wish him all the best in the future & look forward to seeing who our next signing is, which I'm sure Peaksy is working on as I write this.
That's my opinion, you've got yours and I respect that Brownie.
Maybe I should have expanded on my OP, and added that he looked a threat when coming off the bench. Also maybe my comment that he could have started most games was a bit outlandish. Best of luck to him at St Ives, just not against us!
Respect to Scotty, although he is aware of this thread, he hasn't thrown his toys out of his pram, like a certain Joe Henderson did!

Brownie's spot on. Scott is a great lad but a ninety minute striker in the Southern League then no chance unfortunately. You need to have the right mindset to accept that your lot is as an impact sub playing a maximum of thirty minutes. When you are on £150,000 a week I'm sure that's easier to do than when you are playing for little more than for the love of it.
I don't necessarily agree with this notion that Joseph was only useful as an impact player. He played very well for 70+ minutes against Bedford, Ashton and Deeping. Towards the back end of last season he was starting most of the games and playing very well then too. His goals/games record is up there with the best of them regardless of whether he starts or comes on as a sub.
I've heard people at games getting strangely passionate about the 'Joseph is just an impact player' train of thought. It's academic now.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
24 goals in 47 games is a decent return. I suspect that his goals to minutes ratio is almost untouchable.
For me he didn't seem to be as effective when starting, the KO Cup game at Whitworth last season a point in case, where he should have won it on his own in the first ten minutes.
Very sorry to hear the news on Scott. I feel Andy did not give him enough games. It is indeed a concern he has gone to St Ives, similarly disappointed that Steve Spriggs has gone, always a better option in my view that Courtenay. Hope I am wrong but I feel the squad may not be as good as it was.
