Although a would like us to beat K*ttering in Cup final, I would prefer us (at least) to finish in the play offs.

I think it's shocking that people don't see it as important to beat our local rivals! It's as bad as accepting finishing 5th!

I think most people still want to beat them, I do with every sinew of my body, but given a choice of securing a playoff spot or losing to them...... I'd take the playoff spot !! That said, let's hope our form turns around and we can give them a good game on the 20th!!

Interesting that some would prefer to finish in the play-offs and prolong the season by a couple of games rather than lift a trophy. You only get so many goes at a final. The majority of players never get to play in one.

A league title over a Cup Final yes, but over the playoffs, I'd take the Cup win myself.

I remember the apathy towards the Hillier Cup in the RDFC days from players, management and fans alike, and perhaps others do too. I was one of the few Diamonds fans who saw us face KTFC in that competition in the link I posted earlier, and there was an almost complete lack of atmosphere. Similarly I remember how few first teamers got involved with the competition in those days - even in the final at Woodford when pitted against Matt Finlay, Arron Parkinson et al - even Mark Wright got a game.

I'm sure helping the club win promotion is quite high on the list of the player ambitions too.

We might have a few interesting team selection issues too, given there are four players who played on Saturday who are ineligible for the final.

By the time the Final comes round we will have secured a play off place. The only question will be can we beat Godalming and finish 2nd or 3rd.

It's looking more likely that by the time the final comes around the play offs will be out of reach and we can concentrate solely on the Ploppies game.
