The two other blokes there that helped were my Dad and I! No problem whatsoever, we were all just happy to help out a fellow Diamonds fan in need which is certainly indicative of our clubs’ supporters. Shame we couldn’t start it with the jump leads but pleased to hear you got home safely corby diamond!corby diamond wrote: Lastly a massive thank you goes out to Trek and his friend, and if the 2 guys are on here who tried to jump start me and let me use their phone is on here, thanks so much lads!! What a time for your battery to die after the game and that's exactly what it was, although finally getting seen about 11.10 the guy did say your battery is running on empty!!! Finally getting home at 12.30am.. But I can't thank you all enough! Least I didn't have to pay £220 to be towed home![]()

I think Peaksie will accommodate Sandy. The three in midfield worked well last night and I reckon we'll see the same formation against St Ives against their midfield 3 that they employed in their match with Egham.TheIncognitoKid wrote: Has to be hall to come in for him. That'll still add an attacking threat on the wing.

What is the " Bowens on fire" song? I did not hear it, probably because wearing headphones. Unless it is to the tune or based on a song at least 30 years old I wont know it!
"oh what a night" I am more familiar with, and what a night it was.
Great night. great performance, great support.
.Sometimes hard work does not get the reward it deserves but last night showed the unity in the team, the management and the fans.
The Royston people were very friendly and were generous in defeat, even one of their players tweeted his congrats.

Your defence is terrified cause Bowens on fire.. To the tune of Gala - freed from desire, released in about 1997-1998?sussexdiamond wrote:What is the " Bowens on fire" song? Cracking highlights as always!
Their Number 11's dive looked even worse than it did look in real time, he is thrown himself to the floor like there were bullets flying over his head!
The noise after the penalty went was awesome too.
It was a silly foul by Claudio to get a 2nd booking . Yes their number 11 should have walked for his persistent fouling after his dive, but having just been booked, it may have been best to keep yourself out of the firing line, I suppose it does demonstrate his (over) commitment to the cause though.
St Ives in the final was who I wanted before the Royston game. Easier place for fans to get to and we have a better league record against them, not that counts for anything as we proved on Tuesday.
I can see a 1000+ crowd there on Monday 60/40 split in the crowd in Rushden's favour. We just need to make as much noise as we did at Royston and make it feel like a home game again. It will be tough as St Ives beat Egham in the league away and scored 2 during the game on Tuesday so clearly will be a threat.
However if we play like we did on Tuesday, we can be cautiously optimistic of causing another upset again and potentially look forward to an unexpected promotion!

That pass that led to the penalty though! What a pass it was!
Reminiscent of that Rob Gier pass against Northampton Town when we beat them 3-2 at Nene Park.

I hope you were watching Ryan Frater, the Royston number 5. That is what a real donkey looks like.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:Can someone tell me what Dan Quigley has for breakfast? I'd love to try it. Never seen a player win so many second balls in a match - what a performance.
Tonight was incredible. Every single player earnt their weight, fitting that another ex-Diamonds youth player went through and won the critical penalty - well done Mr Bowen!
Gutting for Claudiu, said as soon as his first booking came in he needed to be taken straight off and saved for the final. Will he be suspended?
On a personal note, I'm praying for a whopping storm Sunday night so I don't miss the biggest game in clubs history due to work.
Proud to be a Diamond tonight. Fans were brilliant, tactics were spot on, players were immense (even/especially Harris). Bring on Monday!

Agreed, on Tuesday we restricted Royston to sweet FA. We are not a massive scoring team and actually we are not the sort of team that has the mentality of 'If you score 3, we'll score 4'. The only way we can win on Monday is being organised, disciplined and compact, limiting St Ives to half-chances and hitting them on the break and from set pieces.Dowlo wrote: It will be tough as St Ives beat Egham in the league away and scored 2 during the game on Tuesday so clearly will be a threat.
