It may well have been to an extent, but that doesn't mean the current owners have the money to continue to pay the club's financial liabilities as it was left to them. Nor does it seem to include the outstanding debts that were mentioned in the recent charge by the Conference, which might it seems have occurred during KC's tenure.scot wrote: "To enable the deal to conclude Keith Cousins has written off all his loans which allows us to take over the club debt-free.
This wasn't true then ?

Good questions Scot. Those of us who work on the OWS went to great time and trouble to transpose everything that was said in the original press conference as we realised its significance. The quotes are in several stories for those who look in the OWS News Archives, but perhaps the key one is this onescot wrote:"Gary and Liam take over the club that has been under the excellent stewarship of Keith Cousins and all the staff for the past four years. Two of Diamonds wrote:Actually YES. KC was a major investor who pulled out and it seems whatever the club's financial situation was left in it is currently too much for the new owners.coltrane wrote: Has a major investor pulled out unexpectedly? Not heard anything about that if they have. Or was the club handed over without the owners having the wherewithal to continue on an even keel?

with specific quotes from KC - "Keith Cousins: I leave the club debt free, having written off all of my loans. The club is in an excellent financial position at the moment - the guys will confirm that. The reason that has happened is that I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to enhance and improve the club without any restrictions of financial structures. So, the debts have been written off and I've left the club debt-free - and I also leave the club in extremely good hands, and with Justin Edinburgh who is one of the best managers I've worked with."

Re: I'm doing my bit......
I understand that Keith wrote off in excess of a million pounds and whilst there were outstanding creditors, they were matched in amount by the outstanding debtors.
I wonder how many of the pre Beasant era creditors have been paid with the debtors money that came in.
I am sure that the amount owed to Cloverdale was included on the creditors list.
How the blame can be laid at the former owner is beyond me.

Facts are dribbling out so we're not able to apportion blame, we're merely debating the possibilities of what happenned outside of that "circle of knowledge". That seems reasonable considering what's at stake.diamond mad wrote:I understand that Keith wrote off in excess of a million pounds and whilst there were outstanding creditors, they were matched in amount by the outstanding debtors.

In an early statement to the Fans, shortly after the takeover had been concluded, the Beasants stated that they would not be personally taking any money out the Club. To the best of your knowledge, Gill, is this true?diamond mad wrote: I wonder how many of the pre Beasant era creditors have been paid with the debtors money that came in.

Maybe we can set up a Polish R&D Supporters Club and advertise that at the Car Boot Sales.

Keith's decision to pull out may have been unexpected to the rank and file but do you really believe that he didn't give a great deal of thought to how the club was to progress in his absence? I'm sure that he did but it still seems that ever since day one of the take over the clubs fortunes have been on the slide. How has this state of affairs been allowed to happen? Two of Diamonds wrote:Actually YES. It was allowed to happen because the Trust people that took over had no experience of running a professional, full time football club IMHO!
David Suddens brought in a professional, a guy called Hugh Roberts, to help and set them on there way, but HT couldn't wait to get rid of him so she could be seen as the 'face' of RDFC.
I know some of the Trust people will say Roberts was to expensive and they couldn't afford him, but that was short sighted, he had ideas and motivated people to start doing things. I know it's all history but as I say IMHO the day this club started going down hill, was the day we let amateurs (HT and the trust) run a professional football club.
I am not pointing the finger of blame at everyone involved in the Trust board (most of them had the club at heart) but they had no experience, at Board level of running a football club.
Exactly the same is happening again now, the Beasants also appear to have no idea of what is needed to run a full time football club.
Re: I'm doing my bit......
from wht i have seen the club has been marketed in a very amateur way over the past few years ? it has not competed in the conferencing workplace by pricing itself out . I have been approached by two individuals who have said that thier compenies now use KLV of all places becaus we were too dear. if you have a building that you are paying rates heat etc on you get every thing in you can .I think KC cost himself a lot of money by not recruiting a real pro to do the marketing
Re: I'm doing my bit......
I don't think that the trust can be blamed for anything that has happened since Keith handed the club over to novices and if the club folds then it will be Keith and his oppo's who are to blame imho!
