I'm doing my bit......
.............by putting a £1 in the club's coffers by going to the car boot sale this morning, all we need now is another 56,999 to do likewise and we've sorted one of our creditors out !! ;) Any ideas for sorting out the rest of the sorry mess we're in??? Depressed by the things I'm hearing isn't the word !!! In all the time I've followed Diamonds I've heard lots of stories about us going into admin, being wound up etc, this is the first time I've really got concerned.
It sounds to me that we're up s#it creek without a paddle !!

The car boot was packed this morning, first time I've been in a while and its such a shame that seems to get higher attendances then the matches.

Re: I'm doing my bit......
We need to know how much of the carboot parking/selling pitch rental actually does go to the club. In the past it used to be quite an earner for us, but I don't know if that is still the case. I know they now charge for the carparks in front of the non club offices, where parking used to be free. Also parking is now prevented on the grass in front of the ground. In theory this should be making us more money but if all it means is that the carboot operators are getting richer then we should be charging them more.
The presence of the carboot seems to be a missed opportunity to raise awareness of the club. Here's one suggestion for a fund raising idea for next season. There must be about 2000 cars visiting the carboot. Print a flier and place it behind every car's windscreen, announcing details of forthcoming matches/events. Even perhaps include a voucher to be exchanged for a free youth's or discounted adult ticket - perhaps also in Polish or Latvian translation! Even if this only brought in a few more inquisitive souls, there would probably be more revenue from food, programmes etc.

It's extremely disappointing that we have reached this position so soon after the takeover in fact it appears that from day one to the present time the club has been on a financial downward slope. What has caused this situation? Have the clubs plans been sabotaged by the council unwilling to grant some kind of planning permission? No I don't think so. Has a major investor pulled out unexpectedly? Not heard anything about that if they have. Or was the club handed over without the owners having the wherewithal to continue on an even keel? If it was how has that been allowed to happen? It's not like these problems have come about because of an unforeseen event so someone must have known what the outcome would be from the word go.
Re: I'm doing my bit......
firstly all the money made from the car boot (after paying stewards) goes to the club
Secondly i see a lot of these debts appear to have come from the time of KC,s tenure. I know for a fact that Cloverdale were given their marching orders shortly after the takeover ( Gray Calder back in January asked my Mrs how come the club owed Cloverdale so much money). The outstanding tax bills appear also to date from KC,s time according to what the conference seem to say. Also when you think of the attendances since december , 500 of them were season ticket holders whose money went into the club in the middle of last year

I think there are a lot of important questions to be asked to establish how the Club has got into this financial mess in such a short time.
I am sure the creditors will be asking a lot of searching questions as they are going to want to establish the facts before and if they agree to anything.

Actually YES. KC was a major investor who pulled out and it seems whatever the club's financial situation was left in it is currently too much for the new owners.coltrane wrote: Has a major investor pulled out unexpectedly? "To enable the deal to conclude Keith Cousins has written off all his loans which allows us to take over the club debt-free.
This wasn't true then ?
