K*ttering put up for sale...
Re: K*ttering put up for sale...
Who does actually buys Football Clubs nowdays, rich Americans, rich Arabs and Rich Ruskies who are only interested in the Premier League.
For the levels below said Premier League the usual suspects are Property Developers or dodgy geezers in robin reliants or old rusty mercedes but the Ploppies have no land, so no assets to strip or exploit.
They need a looney rich bloke who wants to lose a load of money quick or maybe some Developer who will buy out both Cousins and Sadact and lose even more money quick.

They don't really have to pay for RR though IIRC, because they're still only paying 19% of gate receipts on the games that they play there. Although with Ladak, who knows...Formic wrote:The fact that the Poppies not only have to find this rent, and fund a lot of the other costs that made R&DFC a loss making concern, and also have to pay for Rockingham Road and try to pay off the debts incurred during the Maison era suggests they will struggle to find a buyer with the right intentions.
They would be mad, utterly mad not to start thinking about a phoenix club now though, especially with the way the Conference Board works.

I've just bought the ET, I fancied having a laugh and reading Ladak's skewed version of reality. My favorite part is the bit where he say's, "there seems to be a lot of apathy in the area towards K*ttering Town". NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!, this might have something to do with the fact that the locals were robbed of their football club and asked to support a team, the supporters of which have been directing various levels of bile and abuse at for the past twenty years. The fact that you believed the bullshit spun to you that the locals would happily forget all that and trot happily over to Nene Park on a Saturday afternoon to watch your 'sack-of-shit' team is the sort of business model that deserves to fail. You utter moron.

It makes you wonder if anyone can make playing in the BSP work. You need full time players to be competitive yet most club's attendances don't support this so unless you have a rich benefactor who doesn't mind losing money or loads of sponsors it is always going to be a struggle to balance the books.

I'm wondering why Stimson is staying put, it's not like it was with JE and the fact that he'd been with us before it started going wrong and he had a great bond with the fans, Stimson has only just arrived and the carpet is being pulled from under his feet.

Perhaps he's the one person that is getting paid and has nowhere else to go? Not as if other clubs were lining up to give him a managerial job before IL employed him.Sara Pascoe wrote:I'm wondering why Stimson is staying put...

I still think this latest move might be part of an overall plan that was hatched a while ago, and have a similar view to Biggles above.
Perhaps KC is now ready to cash in on the Nene Park complex, and there will be a joint deal selling Nene Park and the Poppies to a Property Developer (we know a few ;) ), who will then start planning for when the Griggs covenant expires. KC might struggle otherwise to sell Nene Park with a sitting tenant with a 24.5 year lease, and it would explain why such a lease was agreed (if indeed it was).

A takeover bid from a Japanese property maintenance firm, which would save the club from financial extinction?
