We have a similar problem with managing the Southend School pitch. We need one or both 9v9 pitches to be in decent condition on Sunday mornings , so with months of seemingly endless rain, it`s difficult for the pitches to drain properly, so training on the pitch is difficult.
I`ve recently found out that largely because of this, our teams train in 8 different venues on about 4 different days/nights.
The realisation of the club`s dream of a central venue where we can all play and train ca n`t come soon enough.
Yeh is difficult. Even if you played on apremiership pitch 3/4 times a week the wear and tear would soon show even with the resorces available. IF theres just one pitch it boils down to coaches being careful (especially with warm ups etc) good maintenance practices, communication etc. As i said the guys there are doing a good job and im sure it will be better in time.

We don't just decide things on the spur of the moment without taking everything into account (well not most of the time anyway ;)) so I can understand why the Duke got a bit tetchy when you think we haven't considerd stuff that would logically be near the top of our list and has already been discussed to death.
That's great to hear Chas, but we're not a party to those talks so it seemed a fair question from where I'm sitting. Maybe next time you could input some of that into the announcement on the offy site? The thought had crossed my mind as well, and it's good that our members/ fans are thinking all the same way don't you think? It shows potential for future board members.
