Is that such a great idea, the pitch is bad enough as it is, and the first team will be playing only a few hours later, just saying :)

Sorry Ron, but I usually have to pick up the pieces along with Chas and Piggers.
We want to help the Academy teams, in fact we want to help all the community teams, but, we are thin on the ground regarding volunteers..............sorry to bang on about it, but there are only so many of us, and having to cover all the teams is getting tiring, it's getting to the stage that my wife is asking to see my passport before she will let me into the house 8-)

The other thing is, do you not think we've actually considered this before making a decision? A number of emails and discussions have already taken place over this and once the decision was made, even more discussions and emails about the logistics of it all.

We don't just decide things on the spur of the moment without taking everything into account (well not most of the time anyway ;)) so I can understand why the Duke got a bit tetchy when you think we haven't considerd stuff that would logically be near the top of our list and has already been discussed to death.

They're such a skillful little bunch of players they actually hover above the pitch causing no damage whatsoever :D

This is a great development opportunity for the lads and I hope a few people do pop along and have a look, sadly I'll be over late as I've got to work Saturday morning so will miss it

Always a tricky scenario when trying to accomadate a few teams. Just a case of working with each other and doing best you can with resources at your disposal. Well done to Hayden and Mark for there efforts on pitch last few weeks (and others)Youve got the people and im confident with people you have and help i can offer that the pitch will be something we can really get to grips with at the end of the season.

I`d like to have come and had a look, but I`m at work first, then training, then over to the Dog.
We have a similar problem with managing the Southend School pitch. We need one or both 9v9 pitches to be in decent condition on Sunday mornings , so with months of seemingly endless rain, it`s difficult for the pitches to drain properly, so training on the pitch is difficult.
I`ve recently found out that largely because of this, our teams train in 8 different venues on about 4 different days/nights.
The realisation of the club`s dream of a central venue where we can all play and train ca n`t come soon enough.
