It is a difficult decision about midweek games early in the season. There are 14 Saturdays available between the end of January and the end of the season and IF all the scheduled games were to take place, there are 15 fixtures outstanding. Unfortunately, it is impossible to plan for the British weather.Olly wrote:Still think they should have scheduled a few more midweek fixtures in August/September, in preparation for the inevitable winter postponements.

I went along the embankment this morning and had a look at the general state of the area. The water has established itself on a large part of the wasteland and over the grassed areas. The dog and duck pitch looked okay, but it will cut up badly with a game played on it. The amount of matches to be played there will no doubt take its toll and we may have a few postponements this side of Christmas. The forecast is for a cold snap as well, so we may have to endure a few football-less Saturdays in the coming months.
